Government Institute Information for Student edit

Dear sir, The page Government Polytechnic Patna-7 is all about government institute information. This is created in point of opinion of information for students. Previously this was unknown Government College. So this is created for information to the wikipedia family that is contributed. ARJ 20:00, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi, you're welcome to contest the speedy deletion nomination in the article's talk page. I've done some research on the article topic and under Wikipedia notability guidelines, "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list." Under current circumstances of the article, it fails to meet that requirement, and is also written without a neutral point of view. If my assumptions are incorrect, feel free to explain the reason your article is notable and doesn't require speedy deletion by clicking the following link and creating the page here: Talk:Government Polytechnic Patna-7. Thanks, Rosalina2427 (talk to me) 20:12, 5 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Government Polytechnic, Patna-7.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Government Polytechnic, Patna-7.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 7 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Shamshernagar, India edit

Hello, I did some cleanup on the Shamshernagar, India article along with other editors. There were a few items that I could not make sense of without local knowledge. Could you help out, either by answering my questions or making your own edits to the article?

  • Are the two high schools, intermediate level or senior level (graduates can apply for university)?
  • I didn't understand this phrase, The nearest railway station is the Anugraha Narayan Road railway station on the Howrah-Delhi main line, Grand Chord near Pawarganj in Aurangabad - the part starting with Grand Chord is unclear. Is it a branch line?
  • I left the database reference to the part about the village being electrified in the article, but it would be much better if the reference was a news article or some other reliable source, as the database is considered a primary source and not considered a good one by Wikipedia standards.
  • There was an earlier reference to Nahar and Escape for the Sone River and Barrage, but it wasn't clear what was meant.

Could you help out here? Thanks, Curiocurio (talk) 20:18, 9 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the answers Amarjeetkr97! I've made a few changes to the article. Curiocurio (talk) 21:15, 9 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://mhrd.gov.in/nmms. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Priya Kumar edit

Hello Amarjeetkr97,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Priya Kumar for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Your edits to Ravidas edit

Unfortunately, I decided to revert all the edits you made to the Ravidas article. Here are my reasons for doing so:

1) False edit summary - many times you removed information yet you used the words "Information added" in your edit summary.

2) You deleted a historical depiction of Ravidas and replaced it with a modern poster image that you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons under false copyright tags.

3) You added Indic terminology into the article without providing a translation or explanation of the terms. Remember this is the English Wikipedia and many readers can come from a background who are unfamiliar with these terms. We need to keep them in-mind when we edit articles.

4) You claimed Mirabai as being a disciple of Ravidas without citing a source to support this claim.

I have gone through your edits to re-add any that may be useful/constructive to the article. The only thing I have re-instated is the wikilink to Rana Sanga's article.

I appreciate your willingness to improve Wikipedia but please reconsider if the edit you are going to publish will improve the article from an encyclopedic standpoint. Thank you, ThethPunjabi (talk) 00:39, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

I see you have attempted to re-add the copyrighted image back into the infobox whilst deleting the historical depiction again. I have reverted you again. Sources edit

Hi, please have a look at WP:V and WP:RS if you haven't already. In your edits to the article Chamar, you made several unsourced changes, some of which contradict the cited sources (e.g. you changed "bitter" to "better") or do not make sense (e.g. you changed the name of a person from "Raghuvanshi" to "Surjyabanshi"). Also, several of these changes are poorly-sourced. For example, you cited the article Chamar (mountain) to assert that the Chamar caste is found in Nepal - first of all that article is about a mountain, and secondly, you can't cite Wikipedia per WP:CIRCULAR. Also chamar.in, news4social.com etc. are not reliable sources, Ain-i-Akbari is a primary source, the other book that you added is a dead link without page number etc. Feel free to reinstate your edits with proper sources. utcursch | talk 23:29, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Also, regarding your edits to Ginni Mahi, please see Wikipedia:Copyright violations - you can't just download images from other websites and post them here as your own work. utcursch | talk 23:42, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Chamar, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. I'm not sure if your comprehension is poor or if you have general competency issues, but you carefully need to go through #Sources section above. Chanwar Chamar moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Chanwar Chamar, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:53, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

April 2023 edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Chamar. utcursch | talk 06:52, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Regarding these comments: Please see WP:NOTCENSORED: talking about the atrocities that a social group has suffered in the past is not same as defaming them. As mentioned before, have a look at WP:V and WP:RS: if you feel a source is not reliable, feel free to discuss it at WP:RSN. Also, please have a look at Wikipedia:Competence is required. utcursch | talk 07:09, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ain-i-Akbari is a primary source - it should not be cited to support historical facts: only its interpretations by qualfied historians should be. Websites like news4social are not reliable sources. Also, you have been adding several unsourced bits, which is not acceptable. utcursch | talk 00:27, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of BEU Patna edit

The article BEU Patna has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable, plus the reason for the inappropriate name (=an abbreviation) appears to be that other versions of the article (Bihar Engineering University and Bihar Engineering University, Patna have been deleted and salted.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
