User talk:Alphachimp/Archive 13
Alphachimp, the requests that are marked as similar to existing accounts can actually be fulfilled, but only by an admin, so they do not need to all be removed from the page. Tra (Talk) 21:31, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Wow. I think I totally misinterpreted the page. Thanks for pointing that out. I've created some of those accounts. This thing is making so much more sense now... :) alphachimp 06:34, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, thanks for clearing the backlog. Tra (Talk) 14:33, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Article semi-protection
editSince I can't find my request for protection, and I know it failed, I might as well ask you. Could you semi-protect New Imperialism; the article has received some heavy Spanish vandalism and I seem to be the only one reverting it. ~Steptrip 03:12, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Protected for 5 days. Hope that helps, alphachimp 06:34, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- It shall. ~Steptrip 19:35, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Alphachimpbot
editHey Alphachimp! I was just wondering: How does your bot always subst about 10x as many templates as mine. I use AWB also, and make the list from what transcludes from the pages in CAT:UWT. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 14:23, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- My bot no longer uses AWB for template substitution, and it uses a huge, huge list of templates. I can't get that list for you right now, but you're welcome to have it. alphachimp 17:39, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I would like to have that when possible. What program does the bot use? --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 17:42, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- It uses Pywikipediabot now. It's a lot, lot cleaner than AWB, which is starting to annoy me a bit. alphachimp 17:43, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I would like to have that when possible. What program does the bot use? --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 17:42, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

editI see that you only gave this block avoiding nuisance 24 hours. Based on the fact that he has been blocked for 3 months, his sockpuppets indefinitely and two of his IPs for a month each I think that this one should be a month also. See 70.253.168.6, 70.253.166.188 and Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Burgz33. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:34, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've extended it to a month, but you might be interested in the comment he added at the bottom of his talk page. I think a range block may be in order, but I haven't investigated. Thanks for telling me. alphachimp 07:37, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. You are probably right. But seeing as how easy range blocks are to screw up, I don't even try. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:42, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm somewhat comfortable with it (that means nobody has ever complained about one of mine before). If you give me a range, I won't mind doing it for you (and taking the blame). alphachimp 07:48, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, and thats why I can't do it. Cos I can't figure out the ranges. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:52, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

You block of User:Superkalfrajalisticexpialadotios
editNot that his 2 edits thus far were astounding, but this user was not final warned, nor does the user name seem clearly inappropriate. I think an indefinite block is not appropriate in this case. --Auto(talk / contribs) 19:03, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Question
editHi random question are you creating those accounts? seems weird. Lakers 07:17, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm creating accounts for users over on Wikipedia:Request an account. Only admins can create accounts that are extremely similar to existing users. I'm eliminating the backlog (>40-50 requests) right now. alphachimp 07:19, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Oh I see sorry for wasting your time keep up your good work :) Lakers 07:20, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- No worries. Thanks for watching the new account feed. alphachimp 07:21, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'm trying to strengthen my areas in Wikipedia in hopefully becoming a admin in a few months if you have any suggestions it would help thanks after your done although. Lakers 07:26, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- From my very limited look at your contributions, you do seem to be doing well. You're reverting vandalism, welcoming a ton of users, and reporting pages for protection (I probably would have full-protected Battle of Thermopylae, I'm not sure why your request was declined). You're obviously attentive to Special:Log/newusers, and you have modified your monobook.js. My one complaint is that your archives either not present or not linked clearly from your talk page. Also note that I've really only looked through your last 500 edits...you could have been a vandal 501 edits ago...but from the pattern of your contributions, that would seem quite doubtful. I hope that helps. You could probably be an admin within half a year at the latest. alphachimp 07:42, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I forgot about the archive thing I'll add it right back up. Lakers 07:53, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Oh I see sorry for wasting your time keep up your good work :) Lakers 07:20, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- By the way I'm not 100% there is a lock on this page, although the page is no longer semi-protected just a note, [1] Lakers 18:07, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's move protected...and I'm not quite sure what the reasoning is. It's a chore, but I'll contact the protecting admin. alphachimp 18:32, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hey one more question I noticed alot of admins are saying talk pages are not forums what can I do for posts like this? [2] Lakers 00:54, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Propose it for speedy deletion under WP:CSD G1 (nonsense pages), G2 (Test pages), or G3 (vandalism). The 2nd and 3rd ones are a little more of a stretch, but G1 is definitely valid. Otherwise, you could probably 'prod it. alphachimp 06:32, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks alot for your help. Lakers 06:34, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

- You're welcome, btw, earlier today I had oral surgery and had 5 teeth removed from my gums and the surgeon also removed my wisdom teeth. So, in short, my mouth still hurts and is still numb from all of the pharmaceuticals that he put in my IV tube. ~Steptrip 21:23, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- That's nuts. I really hope you feel better soon =D. alphachimp 00:30, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks ... btw, what is the minimum number of votes in an AfD required for it to close? ~Steptrip 19:14, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure. It really depends on the admin closing the afd. Standards can vary quite a lot. alphachimp 19:16, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Could you close this AfD? ~Steptrip 22:44, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Editing
editHey, Alphachimp! When I log in and try to create a new article, using a window like this, I get a strange file that is not opened by internet explorer. When I open the file in the program for the file (Broderbund Homework Helpers or something like that ), it says it cannot open. Could you provide a direct link to the article creation page, which may work? Thanks! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zhouf12 (talk • contribs) 22:40, 3 April 2007 (UTC).Zhouf12 22:43, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Just type the name in the search box and click go. There should be a link to creating the article. Broderbund Homework Helper is just software you have installed on the computer. alphachimp 01:01, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about being late getting back to you, I have been away. Anyway, I left the page move protected since many high profile pages are protected that way, as moving them could be disruptive and there is no real reason to move them. However, I personally do not care whether the page is move protected or not. Feel free to change any of my actions if you think it will help the project. Happy editing! editPeople have taken this to the talk page of Jimbo Wales. I defended you on there too, but I wanted to tell you here, too. You did the right thing. Don't worry about anybody who says you did wrong. You were doing your duties, and had an overly-sufficient reason to block her. Good day to you, and keep up the good work! Mattbash 23:49, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! alphachimp 23:28, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- I side with Mattbash. I defended you on that page and said, "If you act in this manner with a normal vandal, why would you do any different if the vandal happened to be oon national TV?" I personally think you and Abecedare should come to an agreement and not have a full-on debate anymore. ~Steptrip 23:31, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- We're not really debating. He has his opinion and I have mine. Other users feel that I should be brought before an RfC or an RfArb. They're welcome to do so if they have the time... But thanks for your support, alphachimp 22:14, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- You blocked a user who vandalized, what is the difference between the normal vandal and the one on the 6 o' clock news? The whole discussion is rather frivolous, considering that it seems to have resolved itself. ~Steptrip 01:30, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

re: anon ip blocks
editOoo, nifty, will do. I really think they should have the block templates on the AIV page so we can just copy and paste them really easily, rather than jumping back and forth for blocking templates from the template lists if we haven't quite committed them all to memory yet... How often do not-really-user user pages show up? Shenme 16:15, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- I actually had to look this one up. You can tag it for deletion using WP:CSD U2: nonexistant user. I've nuked them. These types of pages show up from time to time, particularly when enterprising anons realize they can create talk pages. alphachimp 22:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

School IPs
editHaving lagging you by seconds on WP:AIV, I've noticed that you missed three schools in a row.
- 66.99.20.200 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
- 206.131.39.47 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
- 209.120.161.3 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
They're clearly identified as schools IPs on their talk page, WHOIS and Reverse DNS and yet you still only block them for 31 hours for "vandalism" instead of blocking them for longer or using {{schoolblock}} as your blocking reason. Save us all the hassle further down the track and spend a bit more time reviewing each case please. -- Netsnipe ► 16:47, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't use the schoolblock unless there is a significant, longer term pattern of vandalism. I prefer to assume good faith, even for schools, and I don't think it's reasonable for us to increment directly from 31 hours to 6 months. How is that justified by WP:BLOCK? alphachimp 16:50, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- This block is completely unreasonable: 66.99.20.200 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log). Please revert it to 1 week. alphachimp 16:51, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- (eidt conflicted)This block is also absurd: 206.131.39.47 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log). The only block with a semblance of justification is 209.120.161.3 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log). I'd sincerely suggest you start blocking for reasonable time periods. alphachimp 16:59, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Whoops. The indef on 206.131.39.47 was accidental. Now reset to 6 months. -- Netsnipe ► 17:23, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
My justification is that there is not a single positive edit in sight. Over 90% of our vandalism comes from K-12 IPs and creating accounts once they hand over a school-based email address (with no further questions asked) to unblock-en-l is where I currently assume good faith. -- Netsnipe ► 16:57, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Great, so the solution is to flood the unblocking mailing list with requests. There could still be good users at that school. We have to WP:AGF and give them a chance. alphachimp 16:59, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)It looks reasonable to me. We do this to static IPs that are accessible to a public group of people such as school IPs. Note that it is anon only, the {{schoolblock}} template explains to students that they can make an account elsewhere then use it to edit at school. HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 16:59, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- No, we don't. We don't block Qatar for 6 months, nor do we block StarHub for that long. As of right now, Qatar's edits are basically all vandalism. What would make this any different? This is completely heavy-handed (I never thought I'd say that). alphachimp 17:02, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Because we can assume that behind an ISP proxy there will always be some mature mature (and adult) editors who we should give the benefit of the doubt. However, when it comes to clearly marked K-12 IPs, long term blocking with an informative template explaining the situation will only encourage the more mature students to get an account and maintain their reputation as trusted editors. Allowing drive-by vandalism to continue unabated only wastes everyone's time cleaning it up and sullens our reputation in the eyes of educators. -- Netsnipe ► 17:13, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- No consensus exists for this length of block. Many of the IPs you are blocking have legimate contributions. I'm posting on WP:ANI. Please stop this behavior until it can be fully discussed. Thanks, alphachimp 17:16, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

How to stop AIV helperbot2 removing proposal for extended ban?
editRecently, I came to AIV to request an extension of a user's current block, because he was abusing {{unblock}}, changing others comments, and making personal attacks. unfortunately, even though this was clear and persistent vandalism, AIV reverted my edits, twice. Is there any code I can put in to prevent this from happening (or am I requesting it in the wrong place?) --YbborTalkSurvey! 01:44, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- AIV is only for reporting current vandals in need of administrator attention. Once they're blocked, the request is considered met. I would suggest posting on WP:ANI. alphachimp 02:42, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

editThere is no policy on this, so I have not broken any rule. The article is clearly a school massacre, the move is correct. I have posted it to the article discussion page for input. EnviroGranny 17:39, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Not to make a point, see my statement above with school massacre to support the move. EnviroGranny 17:43, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Nope, I did not create a mess, I moved both the article and talk page together, someone else put them out of sync. This is the worst shooting at a school in US history, this fact alone makes it a massacre, this is an encyclopedia, not a personal diary, stick to the facts. EnviroGranny 17:46, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- I hate to say I told you so....Virginia Tech massacre EnviroGranny 01:28, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Rubbish, I moved it because it was a school massacre, as I advised you in my first written passage on your discussion page. That is not warring, that is called contributing to make a better encyclopedia. My final words on the matter. EnviroGranny 01:39, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

editI was bold, and looking at the talk page, I find the arguments against 'massacre' deficient or incorrect. --Golbez 18:06, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- It is irrelevant if they are incorrect. However, the main reason I moved was to get rid of the '2007'. --Golbez 18:09, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Finally a feasible signature
editIn a previous discussion with you, you told me that I should decrease the line height of my signature to something less that 2. I just want to let you know that that is not my main focus; in all reality, I got bored and changed my signature while working on a template that employed tedious programming. That being said, how does this sig look? ~ Steptrip 01:41, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- I like it, Steptrip. It isn't 5 lines long :D. Have you checked out how it looks in other browsers (e.g. Firefox vs. IE)? alphachimp 01:43, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, and both display it properly. ~ Steptrip 11:56, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Haha, I know steptrip. I'm sorry if I ever said something like that. You're a great contributor, and you're bound to become an admin someday. Remember that the standards people hold for underage users are often a lot higher than adults as adminsistrators (but I'm sure you already know that). So yeah, it's a heck of a lot better. alphachimp 15:21, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, and both display it properly. ~ Steptrip 11:56, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- I just said that because I remember when I was very new here and I concentrated too hard on my signature and that I have been criticized by many users who said that I edited too many autograph books (when I have only edited about 12). P.s. my username has been changed, just to let you know. ~ Magnus animum (aka Steptrip) 01:41, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Coverville verification
editHi, Alphachimp - I've made some edits to the Coverville article, including adding some online article citations and references. Could you look it over and see if it meets the notability requirements yet? Thanks - --Bibbott 18:51, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Bibbott
- I think it does. The big thing that did it for me was the references in print media (Rolling Stone). Very nice job improving the article. Cheers, alphachimp 15:19, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Possible additional task for Alphachimpbot
editIt's related to what Alphachimpbot is already doing and it makes sense for a bot to do it. Some editors (such as myself) try to be helpful and bypass the bot update of adding date=Month Year
. However some occasionally make a mistake, most commonly adding a superfluous comma after the month. Could you have Alphachimpbot check (probably on per month basis would be easiest since it check the members of a particular redlinked category) for errors such as {{unreferenced|date=April, 2007}}
and correct them to {{unreferenced|date=April 2007}}
? There are currently 27 such mistakes for just that template and month combination alone. (I removed the one for March, 2007 by hand, and there were none for January or February.) Caerwine Caer’s whines 23:13, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I'll take a look. That'd probably be pretty easy to do using AWB. alphachimp 15:18, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism
editWelcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from User talk:StudierMalMarburg. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you.
I respectfully request that your Alphachimpbot stop vandalizing my user talk page. Going in and altering other people's messages is vandalism!!!! Please stop it. If you cannot properly program or control a bot, then do not use it. Thank you. StudierMalMarburg 19:33, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- It did not vandalize your talk page. The bot is programmed to subst templates that are supposed to be subst'ed (such as the welcome template on your talk page that was not subst'ed). In lieu of Alphachimp, ~ Magnus animum (aka Steptrip) 23:01, 22 April 2007 (UTC) 23:01, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Magnus Animum. To quote my response on Studier's talk page:
Uh, there's nothing wrong with template substitution. It's a commonly accepted and approved practice that reduces server load and prevents changes in template syntax from significantly influencing their content. The accusation of vandalism is, to say the least, a bit ludicrous. That said, if you insist on no substitution, simply add to you talk page. Be warned that templates may cease to function as they are supposed to.
- alphachimp 00:05, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- On regular article pages, it's fine. On a user's own talk page, it's vandalism. Besides, it's really none of your business whether I have a template substitution on my talk page or not. I simply request that you be less of a busybody and keep your vandalbot off my page. StudierMalMarburg 13:01, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
I hear you on that, my friend. --Imdanumber1 (talk • contribs) 01:04, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

- I added that speedy deletion tag because at the time he had failed to provide any evidence that this planet even existed. But obviously he has come up some evidence proving it's existence. I only reacted to help keep Wikipedia reliable by preventing junk articles from staying on Wikipedia for too long. I am going to suggest to the user he put his sources on the page in the beginning so we can avoid another incident like this. Xtreme racer 02:48, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Sock case with legal threats
editI posted this Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/207.144.59.134 yesterday, but I haven't received a response. It's interesting because an editor has been impersonating a representative from a company and making legal threats. User:Alison (a novice admin like myself) has contacted the organization, and they have expressed interest in helping resolve the matter. To help this along, I think we'll need checkuser. I did what I could to organize the evidence in a clear and logical manner. If you could 1) give the sock page a quick read and see if this matter interests you, 2) advise Alison and I for future reference, and 3) if the case merits attention, take the lead or at least point us in the right direction. Alison and I are both keenly interested in learning more about how to resolve these more complicated matters. Cheers, Rklawton 04:15, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- Very interesting. I can't say I'm too impressed by some of those usernames. At this point, I'm inclined to avoid the checkuser request and simply go for a long block of the IP address (which I will do as soon as I finish posting this response). The connection between the accounts does seem fairly obvious to me. If the abuse persists, however, I would think a RFCU would be in order. alphachimp 04:44, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- Righto. The only other thought would be that with the IP(s) of User:MullinsLabsInc, we might be able to help those folks out - that is - determine if it's a user from their own network. However, I'm not certain that that's something we even use RFCU for or not. Rklawton 04:49, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hmmm. Personally, I like the idea. I'd suggest listing it on WP:RFCU. It's not a typical request, but I suspect that the checkusers might be amenable to looking into a situation that might be able to help a company identify a vandal on their premises. alphachimp 04:53, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

SOVoIP page deletion
editHi there, I just have added a page from The University of Melbourne, Australia and named it SOVoIP. SOVoIP is a new architecture that we have introduce. It is a new science in VoIP world. It is been well understood among the community and you can have a look at our research paper here http://www2007.org/workshop-W5.php. Our paper is "SOVoIP: True Convergence of Data and Voice Network ".
However, I wanted to update it slowly. One step to the another. Even before I thought on it after adding one paragraph I found our page has been deleted mentioning spam. Hope you will give us proper time for continious update. I am sure with this new technology people will come in wiki and will search for that.
Looking forward to hear from you. Our page in wiki in english was "SOVoIP".
take care Arif.
- Arif, Wikipedia is not free webhosting. We're not here to host a synopsis of your latest discovery. We are here to provide reliable, verifiable information about notable discoveries. To be honest, it seems to me like SOVoIP was created for promotional purposes. If so, check out WP:COI. alphachimp 14:12, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
HI alphachimp
Certainly SOVoIP was not created for promotional purposes. As you can see we are from a world renownd university, we believe our contribution is notable discoveries. I think if you have any expert in VoIP s/he can answer you better. If you have a look at our paper and the conference we are presenting the paper, I am sure you would have understand how noticible work it is.
I hope to hear from you, on how can we come over it. But We need time and want to add information step by step, rather all at a go. Because our research work is still on. However, if you ask any VoIP experts you will see they are aware of our ideas.
take care Arif.
- Arif, why do you want to post your article on Wikipedia? Are you seeking fame? Publicity? Corporate sponsorship? It sounds like you think I don't have sufficient expertise to evaluate your article. Let me know if that's the case. alphachimp 14:14, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Sorry alphachimp, I admire your expertise. Sorry about our posting too. We wish someday, someone else will post this SOVoIP concept in wiki. May be with proper writings. It would be nice to have a proper respose too. take care Arif.
- Uh, alright. Coincidentally, please stop removing others' comments whenever you respond. It is extremely irritating going to the trouble of restoring them. If someone else does post the concept, it will be somewhat of a validation of your addition. There won't be any conflict of interest, and there won't be any question of self promotion. alphachimp 02:31, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Yz Solutions
editHello admin, recently a simple post about the history of my company/ project was deleted due to the fact that it contained information about my own company. Then i came across:
Self-published and questionable sources in articles about themselves Material from self-published sources and sources of questionable reliability may be used in articles about themselves, so long as: it is relevant to their notability; it is not contentious; it is not unduly self-serving; it does not involve claims about third parties, or about events not directly related to the subject; there is no reasonable doubt as to who wrote it.
I have not violated any of those to my knowledge and i have had a recent discussion with a help full wiki pedian. please visit my talk page to see what we have discussed thus far, and let me know the channels i can take, or modifications i can that will allow my company to exisit within wikipedias knowledge book. Thank you. Sincerely, Yahyazia 02:52, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

The voice123 company
editHello Alphachimp, I wrote the article about Voice123, however you said it was advertising. Voice123 is not my company, is company I know a voice talent that uses it and I've seen how that company has changed a lot of things in that industry. This is why I think is notable, if you talk to anyone involved in this industry, you will see how Voice123 is a very important player. So I would like to know how can I modify it or what can I do so that it is published. Thanks. Fermart19 20:48, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Please demonstrate that the company satisfies WP:CORP. I'm open to restoring the article, but you're going to need to establish that it isn't spam. alphachimp 02:36, 27 April 2007 (UTC)`
- How do I demonstrate that? Do you mean through the article? Or explaining it to you? Fermart19 13:37, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- I want you to say more than just "they are notable". You need to say," They are notable because they have done xxx and innovated in yyy. Here are some references: www.url.com www.url.com." The article just seems like spam to me. alphachimp 14:14, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Yz solutions article restoration and placement in articles to be deleted.
editHello alpha, i would like to kindly request to you that my article Yz Solutions be restored and placed on articles for deletion. This is because i would like to plead my case with the community rather than face utter deletion. Please advise, and kindly restore the article until the community sees it fit for deletion. Thank you. Yahya Zia. Yahyazia 03:14, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- Upon further review, I stand behind my decision to delete Yz Solutions. There is no way I will restore this article. You are welcome to take it to Deletion Review, but be warned that you will not be successful (and that it will be a complete waste of your time). alphachimp 04:09, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Please restore...
editHello, could you please restore West Leeming Primary School and South Perth Primary School as they are clearly notable articles and an admin has deleted them saying they are not notable and they qualified for speedy deletion, as you'll see the clearly dont, it seems he has a habit of deleting school articles unnecessarily and their is nothing I can do so could you please do this and tell him, cheers! Tellyaddict 16:55, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hang on: "...it seems he has a habit of deleting school articles" Perhaps Telly addict could explain. I cannot recall deleting a school article before now and object to the tone of this message. The articles subjects are non-notable. Sorry to hijack your page Alphachimp. —Moondyne 17:02, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- I didnt mean to sound nasty, just by reading this it seemed that way, the comment I admit was inappropriate but I still strongly believe they should be re-stored.17:15, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- Orderinchaos gave me reasons to save the Marmion Primary School article and I happen to know that he is doing major project work in relation to that area so the request was reasonable. These two articles however had little or no content to speak of, no secondary sources and would fail WP:SCHOOL#Notes by a country mile. Once here and twice on my talk page Tellyaddict has said they are "clearly notable". He/she needs to explain why this is so. I'm curious. —Moondyne 17:22, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, I don't delete reasonably cited school articles. Simply put, I've never seen any consensus reached in a school deletion debate. Personally, I don't really have a strong position anymore (I've argued 'keep' in the past). Both arguments I've seen articulated seem reasonable (I thought they used to be on WP:SCHOOL, but they don't seem to be there). I'm not going to reverse your deletion. I'd really suggest that you take this to DRV, Tellyaddict. Sorry to not actually resolve the issue. alphachimp 16:14, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Dispute speedy deletion Jura Books
editHi alphachimp. I would like to dispute this speedy deletion. I believe Jura Books is verifiably notable in at least two contexts: 1. [Australian Ethical Investment Fund] uses Jura Books as an example for their ethical investment practice Ethical company profile of Jura Books 2. Over the many years of operation Jura has built a collection of more than 4,500 Australian and international posters, believed to be one of the biggest and most complete collections of political posters known to exist in Australia. In 2003 a selection of over 100 political posters spanning from the 1960’s to the late 1980’s were on display at Jura Books. NSW Government Arts Bulletin No 70, 2003 3 Of course there are a number of lesser criteria for notability including organising conferences (Such as Visions For Freedom in 1995 which had Noam Chomsky as guest speaker), publishing and as a meeting space for various community groups and organisations (the IWW is one) and operating as a community resource for 30 years.
Can you please restore the article so these contexts can be added. --Takver 19:47, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
I have done a total Rewrite from scratch detailing grounds for notability with citations for Jura Books. I think the article now meets the criteria for notability and it clearly is not an advert. Is it possible to move the old edit history in to this new article?--Takver 08:05, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Eh. Admittedly, I'm not completely familiar with Anarchy or Australia topics, but this one still seems like a stretch to me. I'll restore the history, but I'm not going to rule out putting it before AfD. Cheers, alphachimp 16:15, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- thanks I appreciate you giving the article another chance.--Takver 18:10, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Draft I was working on
editHi; I was working on a draft for a possible template that might have been used at User:DannyDaWriter/VivaldiSacredMusic. While I perhaps should have notified that it was a draft, it was deleted. I read the Wiki article linked, and I didn't understand how that applies to the draft I was making. Is it possible you may expand on why it was deleted? Thanks. (Don't take this as ad hominem - I'm actually quite happy, and I appreciate much of the work Wikipedia admins do =) ). --DannyDaWriter 22:34, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- Danny, thanks for the compliment. I actually can't find any page history at the address you're listing. Could you have gotten that wrong? alphachimp 16:07, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. I certainly did... twice. I presume it was deleted because it was under the namespace of "DannyDaWriter/VivaldiSacredMusic" instead of "User:DannyDaWriter/VivaldiSacredMusic" where I had originally intended to put it. Is it possible it could be restored and moved to the User:DannyDaWriter/VivaldiSacredMusic namespace? Thanks. =) --DannyDaWriter 17:33, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
