Your draft article, Draft:Hermaphrodites with Attitude

Hello, Alison. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Hermaphrodites with Attitude".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. 1989 (talk) 01:24, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Comment: Transgender and intersex task forces

Hi Alison. Funcrunch has proposed creating a transgender/nonbinary task force, and I thought it might be an opportunity to create a small intersex task force as well. Would you be interested in commenting? Thanks! Trankuility (talk) 03:45, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

March 2017

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Meow Wars, from its old location at User:Alison/mw. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. North America1000 13:14, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

ED

Upon doing some digging, I see that an exception was made in the past to wrap Encyclopedia Dramatica's url in nowiki tags for the purpose of its article. Fair enough. However, do we have any reliable sources about the authority of the url we're pointing people to? It would not be the first time some random person hosted a mirror of this sort of content just to exploit the incoming traffic. This comes up all the time with Tor .onion links, which have no central registration authority and so very frequently subject to a copy of a site going up at a different address, with different intentions... Seems to me reliable sources are in order to provide any "unofficial" url, no? — Rhododendrites talk \\ 12:30, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi there. Given that it's Encyclopedia Dramatica we're talking about, you're not going to find much in terms of a WP:RS which will authenticate the .rs TLD switch. I happen to know that it's the same crew that ran the .se site, but that's obviously a primary source. My recommend would be to leave it as-is for now - Alison 18:25, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
    • We had the Daily Dot for the previous one, I believe, but I don't think "there are no reliable sources for it because of the nature of the subject" is a good reason to include something without reliable sources. The opposite, really (regardless of its content). Linking to unsourced unofficial domains hosting mirrors of a site run, presumably, by just some user/fan of the site, especially when that site is associated with trolling, harassment, doxing, etc.... seems seriously problematic for WP:EL. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 23:59, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
      • Hi there. I didn't actually say that there are no reliable sources. What I did say was that "you're not going to find much" in terms of a WP:RS. And we've been over this ground again and again over the past 5 or 6 years, starting in 2010 when the .com domain was taken down by Girlvinyl, and subsequently popped up again at .ru and .es, finally settling down for the longest time at .se. Each time, it's basically the same crew running the show. In fact, I know a number of them, given that I'm an ex-sysop there. Not that that helps, as it's a primary source. My point here is that yes, it's the same site, as time will prove out. But in the meantime, there will be the same back-and-forth over the links. Because - let's be honest - many folks would rather there was no link at all there due to ED being taboo on Wikipedia. WP:*IS*CENSORED, if you like. There was an entire failed policy proposal around exactly that, in fact, about a decade ago - Alison 01:30, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

Bad incounter with user

A user "Quis separabit?" accused me of making harmful edits and vandelism and when I asked on their page about it, they just wiped their talk page. I tried to repost and was met with a agressive and uncalled for retort in the edit history page. I reach out to you randomly since you have posted before on his page. Is this acceptable on Wiki? Will I actually get banned? Thanks. 108.54.93.183 (talk) 00:22, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

Dead?

I think User:Mr Accountable may be dead. No edits since 2011. Talk page full of automated entries, no replies at all. --Manorainjan (talk) 16:05, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

You're describing around 95% of Wikipedia's user talk pages (at the time of writing we have 31,327,765 registered accounts, only 31848 of which are active in even the broadest sense). Unless you have any actual evidence that a user is deceased, this kind of comment is grossly inappropriate. ‑ Iridescent 20:17, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
This answer is in no way relevant for me. --Manorainjan (talk) 21:42, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
Whether you think it's relevant or not is—er—irrelevant; if I ever see you make a grossly inappropriate comment like this again without evidence, you're blocked. The BLP policy applies to Wikipedia's editors just as much as it does to its article subjects, and you can't get much more of a BLP violation than claiming someone is dead without evidence. ‑ Iridescent 21:54, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

request for IP block exemption permission

Hi, I would like to request for Wikipedia:IP block exemption#Used_for_anonymous_proxy_editing. Because my network does not allow direct access to most web site at specific hours of each day. At those hours, Tor is the only way for me to access and edit wikipedia.

Requesting a copy of Linuxbeak s "admin stuff" page about JarlaxleArtemis

Greetings, Alison. Sorry to disturb you but I was checking the arbitration and LTA pages of JarlaxleArtemis and frankly, I was quite interested on how long his case is and that he had over 3 (!) arbitration cases. In one of them, it says case was closed due to a permanent ban by reasons detailed in Linuxbeak s admin stuff. But when I tried to view it to learn more, it was for some reason blanked as an "Courtesy" and all previous revisions were revdeleted. Since I have a knack for history and that I would like to learn the full picture, I request a copy of said article before it was revdeleted and courtesy blanked. As I don't like censorship and absence of information. Along with screenshots of his most serious violations. For example, that attack on his teacher. Feel free to blur out personal details if you like I just want more info. Eric8123 (talk) 07:01, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Drafts for Move (company) and Realtor.com articles

Hi, Alison. I noticed you are a top contributor to the Zillow article, so I was wondering if you might be willing to review proposed drafts I've submitted for consideration on behalf of Move, since they are somewhat similar to the Zillow article. I have saved expanded and updated versions of the Move (company) and Realtor.com articles; you can view the Move draft here and the Realtor.com draft here. Both articles have edit requests on their respective talk pages.

During this project, Move has provided feedback to ensure accuracy. Given my conflict of interest, I will not edit either article directly and ask independent editors to review them for accuracy, neutrality, and verifiability. I noticed the Zillow article has been tagged for conflict of interest editing, but I'm working transparently and have added appropriate COI banners to both talk pages. Do you have any interest in reviewing either draft, or know someone who may be? I've posted some notes on WikiProject talk pages but so far no changes have been made to either article. Thanks for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 18:02, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Alison. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December.
