Welcome edit

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, Alexchen4836. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started.

  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • I suggest that you try to improve a few articles first, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Proposed deletion of Tan Ning edit

The article Tan Ning has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Alexchen4836! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 5 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 942 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Articles for deletion nomination of China PR national football team results (1990–1999) edit

I have nominated China PR national football team results (1990–1999), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/China PR national football team results (1990–1999). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. RadManCF open frequency 17:07, 8 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Alexchen4836, Please read [[WP:NOT]. It clearly states that Wikipedia articles should not contain long and sprawling lists of statistics. Regards, RadManCF open frequency 17:58, 8 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Alexchen4836, It would be more productive to post these arguments at the article's deletion discussion, located here:China PR national football team results (1990–1999). It would also be worth reading WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, as it applies to some of the arguments you have used in this discussion. Regards, RadManCF open frequency 18:47, 8 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Alexchen4836, I would suggest that you take a look at the article List of Green Bay Packers seasons. It refrains from providing excessive amounts of information, and discusses the subject of the article in the lead section. Regards, RadManCF open frequency 18:56, 8 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Autoreviewer edit

Hi Alexchen4836, just wanted to let you know that I have added the autoreviewer right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature should have little to no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autoreviewer right, see Wikipedia:Autoreviewer. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Tim Song (talk) 20:46, 21 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations! edit

Just to give you congratulations for making the List of foreign Chinese Super League players. I was wandering when will be made by someone. Are you planing to make a list of foreign players in China prior to 2004? Best regards, FkpCascais (talk) 04:57, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

You are now a Reviewer edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:19, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

July 2010 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Aftershock (film). Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Trafford09 (talk) 23:38, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edit summaries edit

Tip of the day...

Please summarize your work using the Edit summary box

If you make anything other than a minor edit to an article, it helps others if you fill in the edit summary. Edit summaries are visible in the page history, watchlists, and on Recent changes, so they help other users keep track of what is happening to a page.

If you use section editing, the summary box is filled in with the section heading by default (in gray text), which you can follow with more detail. You also can put links to articles in the edit summary. Just put double brackets around [[the article title]] like you would normally. The summary is limited to 255 characters, so many people use common abbreviations, such as sp for correcting spelling mistakes, rm for remove, ce for copy-edit, etc.

Referees edit

Hi Alex. What is your source for the referee for the Real Madrid v Guangzhou match? I was watching the game on Al Jazeera 3 and they posted a graphic before kickoff listing the referee as Liao Guowen. However AS.com thinks it was Luo Guoyuan and now you're saying it's Liu Kwok Man haha. I don't know which source is correct. Bobby (talk) 18:45, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Never mind. They appear to be different transliterations of the same person, 廖國文. Bobby (talk) 19:58, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
I agree. I was just initially unaware they were all the same person haha. Thanks for the clarification! Bobby (talk) 00:48, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
