English modals of habits and past facts

edit

Your article is misleading, and I don't want to write it from scratch. It should be deleted. Think about your readers. Why do you teach them bad English? You claim that you English language level is en-5 (professional), therefore higher than en-4 (near-native). En-5 is certainly something you dream about, but for the time being your level is en-2 (intermediate) or between en-2 and en-3, at best. Perhaps, if you try very hard, in 10 years or so you will achieve en-4 (near-native) level. As to En-5, you may will never achieve it because not even every native English speaker ever will. Can you imagine a simple unskilled American laborer as a copy editor in our Wikipedia? He has learned English from birth but his real language level may be en-4 (near-native). You may say that his level is en-N (native) by definition. No, it applies only to well-read, educated people.

Copying and pasting from http://understandenglish.weebly.com/used-to-51.html is not very difficult, even at en-2 level. However wording changing needs much better skills. Look carefully at your "works":
...but it is not usually acted right now.
...but this is sometimes acted in...
There are obvious grammatical errors, ironically, in the article about grammar... 85.193.214.212 (talk) 08:32, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

the phrase /it is not usually acted/ is usual and common in English language. take look at [1] Despite a general awareness that project communication is important, 95% of the time it is not usually acted upon, due to a lack of time, resources and energy. Unfortunately, this can result in a decrease in understanding project tasks, the occurrence of information noise, de-motivation, and in effect, the delay or even failure of a project.

and here: This key is the most commonly used key on the keyboard. When a command or anything else is typed in, it is not usually acted upon until the RETURN key is pressed. In other words, this key informs the computer that you have finished entering a line or a reply. Until you press RETURN, you can add to or delete what you have typed in.

so try to make your English better Mr. IP.Alborzagros (talk) 08:45, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

The problem is that "act on something" | "act upon something" has nothing to do with your sentences:

  • It is better not to apply "used to" in questions or negative sentences; but this is sometimes acted in informal spoken English.     INCORRECT

Hello,

I reverted your change to the infobox's picture on Soraya Bakhtiari (addition of Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiari-045.jpg), as I believe that picture is more well known, and imho, its better looking as well. Thought I'd just mention it here to you. I thought about placing it somewhere more down, but theres not really any room for it atm, as the article has not been expanded yet. - LouisAragon (talk) 00:55, 21 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello Alborzagros,

Regarding this category. Shouldn't it also be added to articles such as Russo-Persian War (1804-1813), Persian Expedition of 1796, Battle of Ganja (1804), Russo-Persian War (1722-1723), etc? After all, they were all invasions of what was back then Irans territories. Let me know your opinion please, as you decided to mostly add the cats until now. :-) Could you ping me when replying? Speedy deletion nomination of 2017 Utah Wildfire

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2017 Utah Wildfire requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/inpictures/2017/06/utah-brian-head-wildfire-forces-evacuations-170627084641252.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The Battle of Scheveningen was the final naval battle of the First Anglo-Dutch War, taking place on 31 July 1653 (10 August in the Gregorian calendar). This oil-on-canvas painting of the battle, by Dutch marine artist Jan Abrahamsz Beerstraaten, shows a Dutch ship sinking in the right foreground and an English vessel on the left. In the centre, the Dutch flagship Brederode is engaged in furious action with English ships on either side, including Resolution. By late afternoon, twelve of the Dutch ships had either been sunk or captured and the Dutch retired; however, the English fleet was also badly damaged, and returned to port to refit. Both sides claimed a victory; the English because of their tactical superiority, the Dutch because their strategic goal had been achieved by the lifting of the English blockade of their coast. This painting is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:2021 establishments in Iran

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:2021 establishments in Iran requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Hello, Alborzagros. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Ahmad Reza Darvish".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. Proposed deletion of Alexandra Chernitsyna

edit

The article Alexandra Chernitsyna has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Kabol (magazine)

edit

Hello Alborzagros,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kabol (magazine) for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Your contributed article, Ideology of Safavids

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Ideology of Safavids. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Safavid conversion of Iran to Shia Islam. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Safavid conversion of Iran to Shia Islam. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. GenoV84 (talk) 09:07, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Alborzagros! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Template:English grammar several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Template talk:English grammar, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Lord Belbury (talk) 07:51, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Swimming and health

edit

Hello, Alborzagros

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Arthistorian1977, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Swimming and health, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Arthistorian1977}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

At least you could have blocked me for a day or a week, not forever.Alborzagros (talk) 18:13, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

You are not blocked "forever", you are blocked until you make a successful unblock request. There is no requirement for warnings. We must take copyright seriously, because allowing copyright violations potentially puts Wikipedia in legal jeopardy. We must be certain you understand copyright in order to unblock you. 331dot (talk) 18:17, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I read all the rules after blocking. Of course, I had information about this. I just didn't know the details of the rules. The rules should definitely not be forgotten. I request you to unblock. I understand the rules. thanks a lot. Alborzagros (talk) 18:57, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you would like me to do something else, you tell me, I will surely do it.Alborzagros (talk) 18:59, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

"I was not given a warning" Are you joking or are you attempting to mislead us? You've been warned over and over again about your copyright violations. Not given a warning indeed. That's insulting. --Yamla (talk) 19:02, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I am not joking. I never want to divert the discussion. Please give an example where I have violated copyright. thank you.Alborzagros (talk) 19:11, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please learn how to properly indent your replies. You stated you were not given a warning; I pointed out that you've been warned over and over again. I'm not sure why you are now attempting to change the discussion to something else. I'm only talking about the warnings given to you for copyright, warnings you claim you never received. --Yamla (talk) 19:24, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I mean the warning about the article that got me blocked. I was not warned on my talk page about the French grammar article and without warning I was blocked. Of course, there is a warning on my discussion page about drafts and other things. Now, if you can remove the blockage, I will be grateful to you. I was convinced enough.Alborzagros (talk) 19:37, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Can any admin release me of 🚫 blocking? Thank Alborzagros (talk) 05:50, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi. Unfortunately, I am still blocked. I have explained everything above. I fully understand the copyright laws. thank you Alborzagros (talk) 14:39, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You clearly don't fully understand copyright. You've ignored multiple warnings, then claimed that you never got any warnings. Look, I'm sorry, but we're not making any progress here. I've disabled your ability to edit this page. You still have the ability the file further appeals by following the instructions below. Anyone can restore your talk page access, but they should first be sure that you're going to make a thoughtful unblock request. Saying "trust me, I know this" doesn't work on college exams, in job interviews, or in Wikipedia unblock requests. You need to follow the guide to appealing blocks. If you're not going to do that, we have no way of knowing whether you'll follow any other Wikipedia guidelines. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 11:56, 22 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
