Do you have any sort of consensus for adding commercial links to widely used templates? We have plenty of available free map links (especially given that most geo-articles have coords tags). OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:37, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Jamie, the links are valid and they do add value to people in the MENA region. Ayna is the only one providing Arabic and English street maps with routing in the middle east and north Africa. The other ones do not. Ayna only has maps for the MENA, and I carefully selected the regional templates, but I believe you are talking about the link in main template. I could modify it to state coverage, but it would be an eye sore. --Aelfakih (talk) 11:33, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of MeCard

edit

The article MeCard has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There's no evidence of notability, and the only source there is is quite unreliable

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 05:09, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 08:21, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reinstating Ayna Corporation page explanation

edit

It seems that the user TeleComNasSprVen on 05:03, 18 September 2010 requested deletion and getting the admins confused by pointing to [1]. while it is very apparent that the site servinghistory.com just extracts data from Wikipedia in the first place. User:Quarl did a great job at fixing the wording, who I thank, but again the TeleComNasSprVen user, sent another delete request. I believe this is a deliberate vandalism attempt.--Aelfakih (talk) 15:48, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

With all due respect to User_talk:Ohnoitsjamie I believe that you got a notification, and only saw the end of the conversation, which got you to make a unanimous decision on removal of page without looking back at the events that took place. Also it was my fault for not making this section clear as to what happened and why I put the page back. Unfortunately the copy that was online, edited by User:Quarl was much better that the original one. If you do a diff for the User:TeleComNasSprVen notifications on the Ayna Corporation page, you will see that the page they are pointing to, is a site that takes information from wikipedia, and hence content is not copyrighted. Also I want to clarify that based on the feedback from wikipedia community, I have updated the page with more references and citations. --Aelfakih (talk) 19:11, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
