thank you i need your help my account have more than 10 edits and is over four days, so i created an article on sandbox but i cant find move on my dashboard to move to main page on wikipedia, can you help me out Abbeysegun26 (talk) 12:00, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your account is only two days old, not four. Furthermore, unless you are highly experienced, you should not directly create articles and instead submit them for review, I've provided the information for you to do so.
Lastly, you took a professional image of this person and he posed for you. You must disclose your relationship with him, see WP:COI and WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 13:26, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
The subject gave right to use the image and I have uploaded letting Wikipedia aware of it. Abbeysegun26 (talk) 14:13, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
But this article I published is on my sandbox yet can I send you the link to the article to see Abbeysegun26 (talk) 14:14, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
This is the link and the subject has other sources and citiations to back this up User:Abbeysegun26/sandbox Abbeysegun26 (talk) 14:16, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
You must immediately request deletion of the image, which you are falsely claiming as your own work and putting this entire project in jeopardy. You must also immediately comply with the conflict of interest policy and formally disclose your relationship with this individual. If you work for him, the Wikipedia Terms of Use require you to disclose that, see the paid editing policy.
I have already seen your draft, you may submit is as the box at the top describes, but it is likely to be rejected quickly as highly promotional. You have not shown with significant coverage in independent reliable sources how he meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable musician. 331dot (talk) 16:12, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
The subject is on other sources like wikialpha, crunchbase, I will add this sources thank you for letting me know this 102.88.33.86 (talk) 19:31, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Images are not relevant to the draft approval process, which only considers the text and sources. It is not necessary to have an image yet, but if you want one, the easiest thing to do would be to have the photographer upload the image(or the copyright holder if not the photographer). 331dot (talk) 16:15, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am not related to the subject I am not person on the article, 102.88.33.86 (talk) 19:29, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Remember to log in when posting. You must disclose your relationship with him. You also have not yet requested deletion of the image. If your next edit is anything other than you declaring your relationship with this musician, you will be blocked. 331dot (talk) 20:05, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

He is just a producer that I listened to his song and I decided to do more research about him and I decided I should put up an article about him on Wikipedia, because the song he did really moved me Abbeysegun26 (talk) 21:58, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
How can I declare my relationship with him because I am not related to the subject Abbeysegun26 (talk) 22:00, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
You said that Mr. Jatto gave you the right to use his image, so you either know him or communicated with him. 331dot (talk) 22:42, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I reached out to him on his page where I was able to chat him up and he sent me a picture himself and said I should use it and I am free to use it for the sake of the article. 102.89.34.161 (talk) 10:07, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
ive received your email and you should stop trying to publish the article (other than submitting through AfC) as you clearly have a COI concern here. 0xDeadbeef→∞ (talk to me) 00:58, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
There is no conflict of interest because I reached out to him 102.89.34.237 (talk) 10:10, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Again, remember to log in when posting. That is absolutely a conflict of interest. Articles are typically written without any involvement from the subject. 331dot (talk) 10:27, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I just asked for a picture only if I can use for my work but he wasn’t aware of the article writing so what should I do now Abbeysegun26 (talk) 11:42, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
You need to disclose the conflict of interest now, and go to Commons and request deletion of the image that you are still falsely claiming as your own work now.
As I said above, images are not relevant to the draft approval process. Once you submit the draft for review and if it is accepted, you may then worry about images. 331dot (talk) 11:46, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
but i already told this article i am not related to the subject in anyway, and he has given me the right to use the image he sent to me, can i send you proof of it, how can i delete an image that i was given free rights to use and while uploading the image i told Wikipedia about the rights because i was asked and i stated it there. Abbeysegun26 (talk) 05:49, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
how the copyright holder upload the image himself then Abbeysegun26 (talk) 05:54, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
The image has been marked as needing evidence of permission. That will need to be something on his personal website releasing the image, or a formal declaration of consent by the copyright holder(which usually isn't the person depicted in the image), allowing use of the image by anyone for any purpose with attribution. If you have or can get that, follow the instructions provided on the image page at Commons. It will need to be more than just a "yeah, you can use it" via email or Twitter/X.
You do have an association with this person- you contacted them about what you were doing here(to get an image). If you don't want to have to declare a conflict of interest, you shouldn't contact the subjects of your edits. If your next edit is anything other than declaring your conflict of interest(see WP:COI for instructions) you will be blocked from editing. 331dot (talk) 08:52, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
The author and photographer have declared their consent on the image that required a permission 102.88.70.40 (talk) 15:14, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please log in. Now the other thing you need to do is declare your conflict of interest; I will post instructions below. This should be the next thing you do. 331dot (talk) 16:47, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, you declared the COI, thank you; I see that you posted the permission received for the image, but you still claim it as your own personal work- you need to change that on Commons to indicate whom actually took it. 331dot (talk) 08:27, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Abbeysegun26. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 16:47, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for all your support and I have learnt from it, I have just declared my conflict of interest. Abbeysegun26 (talk) 18:12, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see that you attempted to do so, but you (probably inadvertently) have coding in place to prevent proper display of the notice. It should also be on your user page(User:Abbeysegun26). As a courtesy I will place it there for you. Thanks 331dot (talk) 20:15, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

GODSTIME Martins Jatto moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to GODSTIME Martins Jatto. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has too many problems of language or grammar, it is promotional and reads like an advertisement and you may have a possible Conflict of Interest. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. microbiologyMarcus (petri dish·growths) 20:55, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Personal note about COI and my recent draftification of your article

edit

Hi Abbeysegun26. I wanted to leave you a note explaining my recent draftification of GODSTIME Martins Jatto in addition to the template left above. Because you have declared a COI, the article is required to be revised by a third party at the WP:AfC process. In addition, there are numerous issues with your article including the use of WP:BAREURLS and WP:EXTERNAL LINKS in text, as well as general WP:NPOV concerns. These will need to be address before the article can be accepted.

If you have additional questions, you can ask at the WP:Tea house or ping me using the {{ping}} template and include {{ping|MicrobiologyMarcus}} in your reply.

Thanks, microbiologyMarcus (petri dish·growths) 21:05, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your contributions to GODSTIME Martins Jatto.   Hello, Abbeysegun26, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 08:24, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I am not coordinating account with anyone Abbeysegun26 (talk) 11:00, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Since the other account is yours(as you responded to a question there with this account), I have blocked it as a sockpuppet, and blocked this account for a week. You should only be using a single account. 331dot (talk) 12:39, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for abusing multiple accounts. Request reason:

i was blocked for abuse filter and it was because I wanted to add the subject I was working on to a wiki source because my article was rejected I never knew it will go that way, I did not have it mind to go against Wikipedia policy because I know multiple account are allowed so I was blocked because I was trying to edit it for several times which was because of my server error which I did not so I plead to be unlocked thank you it won’t repeat itself

Decline reason:

You were not blocked for an abuse filter hit. You were blocked because you used User:"Icon240$%" in a manner that violated Wikipedia's policy on using multiple accounts. I'm not sure what a server error has to do with your block. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 18:12, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please place new comments below. This message makes no sense. You are blocked for using a second account inappropriately. 331dot (talk) 19:23, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
The server error is from where I leave the internet supply is not that strong when my article was on speedy deleted I tried to edit not knowing that I have tried it several times not knowing my connection went off and went on again Abbeysegun26 (talk) 19:25, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
A server or internet problem did not cause you to use a second account- and on your second account you did not identify yourself as having used this account, making it seem like you were a different person. 331dot (talk) 19:29, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps you were blocked on Wikinews for an abuse filter, but that is a separate issue that you will have to take up with Wikinews. 331dot (talk) 19:24, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I did not use a second account I only use that username to open an account on wiki news I don’t know about this second account of a thing Abbeysegun26 (talk) 20:26, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

That just doesn't make sense. You responded to a post on User talk:"Icon240$%" as if it was you. You'll need to explain in a new unblock request why you did that. 331dot (talk) 21:05, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you check the page you will see it doesn’t exist I don’t know about that page I was even shocked when you made mentioned of it Abbeysegun26 (talk) 21:59, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes I didn’t Abbeysegun26 (talk) 23:32, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello Emmanuel Abbey,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear of the situation.

As we have no way to verify the ownership of your account we are unable to lift the block. However, as you have mentioned, this also doesn't look like a compromised situation.

If you wish to have your block appealed, you are advised to follow the appropriate community process.

You have a lot of junk coding in this which prevents proper display. I would fix it, but there is nothing to this request other than the email. You need to make a new unblock request where you explain why this account is not compromised, your use of other accounts, what was wrong with your edits, and what you will edit about instead. 331dot (talk) 11:06, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hello, My account was not been compromised because the administrator who blocked me said I said I was not the one that created the account In question and I was the one that opened that account he made a mistake of not understanding what I said to him, the username of the account is abbeysegun26 please I want my account to be unblocked. The use of the other account is not to violate wikipedia purposes but it is been known by users that wikipedia supports multiple accounts which is what I just created that account for, what was wrong with my last edit was that I was told the article I was creating about has not shown enough reasons for it to be notable and show worthiness and what I will edit about is articles of notable people that have won accolades, awards and high profile people that have contributed to my community, state and region. Abbeysegun26 (talk) 19:11, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'll stay out of it if you'd prefer 331dot, but users lole this really make my blood boil. They just waste everyone's time when they know full well they don't stand a chance at getting unblocked. Raul Morar III (talk) 15:43, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Unless there is a particular need for you to comment on an unblock request, it usually just "kicks the bear" unnecessarily- especially with comments such as the one you made. Unless you are trying to assist a user with getting unblocked, or something about a situation pertains to you, my advice would be to stay out. 331dot (talk) 15:51, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I’ll endorse this as well. Fundamentally they look like a new user who was editing subjects they are interested in with a positive slant and they ended up being railroaded a bit. Seems there has been a lot of confusion and misunderstanding and the situation has been largely overblown because of it. ~Swarm~ {sting} 02:49, 21 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

From the discussion above, it looks like there isn't any opposition to an unblock at this point. Abbeysegun26, will you accept a one-account restriction going forward if I unblock your account now? In other words, you would undertake to do all your editing from this account, and not to create any more. Girth Summit (blether) 12:00, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I, Abbeysegun26, accept the one-account restriction. If my account is unblocked, I undertake to do all my editing from this account and not create any additional accounts or engage in sockpuppetry. Abbeysegun26 (talk) 13:24, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
OK, I'm going to unblock. The editing restriction is recorded at Wikipedia:Editing_restrictions/Voluntary. Note that 'voluntary' does not mean that following the restriction is voluntary, it means that you entered into it voluntarily as a condition of unblock (as opposed to restrictions which are imposed on people by community consensus or other mechanisms).
