Hi there. I understand you are involved in a dispute involving the article on Joe Paterno. Please note that Wikipedia policy states not to make a case for your point of view using perceived legal threats. Thanks. --Jtalledo (talk) 00:34, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I just deleted three more legal threats. 71.48.141.230, READ WIKIPEDIA:NO LEGAL THREATS AND FOLLOW IT or you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia --Guy Macon (talk) 00:39, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
These were my expressed concerns for Wikkipedia, not as a threat to make my point. Am I understand I cannot express a concern about material posted on Wikkipedia may result in its facing law suit. I made no threat, I simply pointed out there is a potential threat elsewhere. So I get blocked for sticking up for Wikkipedia. That does not seem fair.
I tried to appeal my block and could not get through the bot control boxes. Any suggestions? DWright71.48.141.230 (talk) 22:24, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I will be happy to walk you through the nuts and bolts of appealing a block, but first you have to have to come up with a valid reason for the block being removed, and "I refuse to acknowledge that I did anything wrong and intend to do it again if unblocked" is not on the list of valid reasons for unblocking. You did violate WP:NLT and you will have to show that you understand that and will not do it again if unblocked.

The list is at Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks, which says:

You, as a blocked editor, are responsible for convincing administrators:

  • that the block is in fact not necessary to prevent damage or disruption (i.e., that the block violates our blocking policy); or:
  • that the block is no longer necessary because you understand what you are blocked for, you will not do it again, and you will make productive contributions instead; or:
  • that your conduct (under any account or IP address) is not connected in any way with the block (this can happen if a block is aimed at resolving a separate situation and you are unintentionally blocked as a result because you use the same IP range).

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for making legal threats or taking legal action. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved. WilliamH (talk) 01:46, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
