Apologize for that. Hard to be patient when false information is being repeatedly reposted and supported by staff[?] apparently. lol Also I don’t know what a half barn star is but give me one of those bro bro, seems like they add some character to the site

Also would it be possible for me to create and account?

And one last addition, how would I go about leaving messages/suggestions on the discussion?

July 2020 edit

Hello, I'm P,TO 19104. I noticed that you recently removed content from John Salvi without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at John Salvi. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. The content you removed was not misleading as it contained valuable references (eg. LA Times). P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 23:07, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Here's what I had to say on my talk page:

He was only considered not mentally ill by prison officials. In many articles about his death, they mention he was mentally ill. Here's another example [2]. Maybe insert a sentence that says "Although considered mentally ill by the general public and his parents, prison officials did not. Cite: [3]. P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 00:15, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to John Salvi. - Harsh 00:20, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Harsh 2580: Please do not block this IP the next time they perform a disruptive edit. Their actions are justified. P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 00:27, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@P,TO 19104: The user's actions are really not helping his case. User needs to stop persistently deleting the section because the warnings are piling up after the 1st warning and could be reported to AIV. After your twinkle revert, another editor reverted his edit using huggle, and finally I reverted. I've seen your t/p. Possibly his concern is genuine. I will appeal to help him in case he is reported to AIV, and I hope you can help him with the article. - Harsh 00:43, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 2601:8D:8680:1C70:7926:CF2E:6FD6:CBE6, removed content from the page John Salvi without giving an explanation. Please always provide an informative edit summary when removing content from pages. If 2601:8D:8680:1C70:7926:CF2E:6FD6:CBE6 is a shared IP address and you did not do this, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors and further irrelevant notices.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! - Harsh 00:46, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Comprimise! edit

I have begrudgingly compromised in only removing the section that claims he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and adding a questionable citation. I believe this to be more than fair, however these edits have still been removed. Why would I need a citation for the fact that he was never diagnosed? That doesn’t even make sense. There is no citation that states he was diagnosed, therefore it should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:8D:8680:1C70:7926:CF2E:6FD6:CBE6 (talk) 00:40, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I will insert the following sentence: "Although diagnosed by a pyschiatrist, Salvi was believed to sane by prison officials." -- or something along the lines of that. I will not omit the part where it says he was diagnosed because that is confirmed by the LA Times. I will use [2] to back this claim up. P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 00:46, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
All right -- here's what I did, I added the sentence "Although found competent to stand trial (see above), he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. He did not recieve treatment for his illness in prison.[1]" Thank you, let us end this discussion. P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 00:57, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, he was diagonsed; see [3]. No, the encyclopedia article does not mention that, but it does not matter since one of the previous sources mentions the diagnosis by the defense. I have since made changes to the sentence which would be our comprimise. Please do not message me any further regarding this topic. P,TO 19104 (talk) (contribs) 01:18, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your message on my talk edit

Hi. Edits like these [4] won't help your case. Wikipedia has strict policy against sourced content removal. Blanking sections by unregistered accounts alerts many editors and they make reverts accordingly. I understand your concern regarding John Salvi. But you have to be patient. Leave a message on the article talk page instead, where other editors aware of the subject can make informed edits. - Harsh 01:22, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
