Orphaned non-free image File:Pichu artwork.png

Thanks for uploading File:Pichu artwork.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:39, 1 September 2023 (UTC)

New pages patrol invitation

Hello, (Oinkers42).
  • The new pages patrol team is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles and redirects needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • I believe that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Thanks, Hey man im josh (talk) 18:54, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

  The Commons Barnstar
Thank you for adding the Pikmin Finder logo to its rightful article. I was trying to do it on my own but didn't know where to properly pull it from to upload it to Commons. Once again, thank you for your contribution. Also nice job on recreating the Pokémon Crystal article! CaptainGalaxy 18:50, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Features of the Marvel Cinematic Universe into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. I know it probably seems like it should be pretty obvious where the text was copied from, but attribution is still required by Wikipedia's license. Adding crew to navboxes

Please stop adding crew to navboxes. This goes against our guideline WP:PERFNAV which states Avoid adding [...] crew members into navboxes for the productions they worked on. This includes [...] writers. --woodensuperman 15:22, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

These are not just writers, but head creatives, sometimes literally the show creators. I would also apply WP:IAR here, as people would want to find them in a navbox (also, that was not how the policy was designed). (Oinkers42) (talk) 15:29, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
It doesn't matter that they're the show creators. Some writers create many shows and therefore to include them causes WP:UNDUE weight on their pages. And it is how the guideline was designed, as I was one of the authors of the guideline. --woodensuperman 15:34, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Tagging pages for deletion

Hello, (Oinkers42),

I just came across some categories you emptied and then tagged for CSD C1 speedy deletion and noticed that you didn't inform the page creator about the tagging so I have done this step for you. This is an important step in all deletion processes (CSD, PROD, AFD/CFD/RFD/etc.). I recommend using Twinkle to do all of your tagging, whether for deletion or to tag articles to note problems or posting warning to editors on their User talk pages. It's an editing tool used by many editors, especially those who patrol new pages along with a lot of administrators, too. Just make sure when you are setting up Twinkle to set your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator" and then Twinkle will post these notifications on your behalf.

Twinkle is useful for so many things from reporting vandals to noticeboards to posting Welcome messages to using it to set up deletion discussions or PROD articles. It basically remembers all of the necessary templates so you don't have to remember them or go searching for the right one. It also will maintain deletion logs for you if you like to look over or review those stats. I encourage you to try it out some day. Thank you for all of your contributions! Liz Read! November 2023

  Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. I see you mass reverting other editors without providing a reason or argument for doing so. You need to stop this immediately. The only time a revert should not have a proper edit notice is for blatant obvious vandalism. -- ferret (talk) 17:51, 10 November 2023 (UTC)

@Ferret: How was my editing disruptive, I did not actually edit war and was not planning to. I was just expressing grievances. (Oinkers42) (talk) 17:53, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
Let me repeat: An editor made a change, and gave a reason for doing so. You reverted without providing a reason. This is disruptive by its very nature. You must explain your edits. -- ferret (talk) 18:19, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
@Ferret: I did give a reason, though admittedly not on every revert. I admittedly could have made that more clear that I was reverting it for the same reason as the previous one. (Oinkers42) (talk) 18:23, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
Wide-scale edit warring is disruptive by itself -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 19:58, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
@Guerillero: But I only made a single revert to each of the pages, I would hardly classify that as edit warring. (Oinkers42) (talk) 01:07, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
You have not engaged in any form of discussion on the merits of the change before or since the reverts. -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 11:26, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
@Guerillero: I did, as seen here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Disney#A massive discussion on franchise navboxes (and navboxes as a whole). It was covered in this discussion and the other editor was aware of this. It may not be the exact same topic, but it was definitely covered here. (Oinkers42) (talk) 20:25, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for voting to keep the "Fictional vegan and vegetarian characters" category

I know your vote wasn't successful (in ensuring the category was kept), which is unfortunate as it will make work on pages like List of fictional vegetarian characters harder, but I'm still grateful that you voted to keep it. Historyday01 (talk) 15:02, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
