Iskander Walen (born May 19, 1978) is a sculptor, painter, and comics artist best known for his sculptures and paintings that feature female anatomy reshaped into symbols or hybridized with aerial bombs. Another theme in his work is a comics restyling of human stereotypes.

Biography

Iskander Walen was born in The Hague, Netherlands, the son of a social worker. In school he studied art under various artists and finally studied English in the university in Leiden. In 1997 he moved to Singapore where he worked at the national television station MediaCorp. In 2008 he studied at LASALLE College of the Arts, where he obtained a Master's Degree in Fine Arts.
