Article Evaluation edit

The Ivan Navarro (artist) Wikipedia Page Iván Navarro (artist) is very underdeveloped.

This article needs a detailed, clear, and easily understood introduction/overview section. This section is currently concise and sourced. It could be lengthened and we should add an additional source.

It has very few citations or resources and not a lot of information about Navarro. There is hardly any content and this wiki page seems to be more of a bullet point list than actual information. There only seems to be 2 paragraphs worth of information about his "Life and work". There is plenty of information on his life, background, and how his experience reflects in his work.

As a group, we need to research more and add as much as possible to this article. We need to be able to back up all of our information with specific information about Navarro's ideas and why he makes his art and what are his concepts and ideas behind each work or body of work. We should keep in mind that a good wikipedia article has balanced content. Important aspects should hold more weight than small details. I think each of us should select a piece that stands out in his body of work. Add a photo, describe the piece, summarize its meaning, and provide reliable sources. Remember to include headings that are organized.

For a bibliography section of his life, we need to be able to expand on what is already there and be able to back up the information with reliable sources and evidence. His work and ideals are written all in the same section and make up hardly a paragraph of information. I feel this article is representative as more of notes taken rather than a reliable Wikipedia page. The short paragraphs seem to have a neutral tone, but there is hardly any information to keep that from not occurring.

Links and Citations edit

The links work, but they are links to other Wikipedia pages that need the same amount of work, or more improvement. For example, the Daniel Templon link takes you to a very underdeveloped Wikipedia page with "several issues" that needs to be added to with reliable citations and information.

Under the "Collections" header, there is only a link to one, which takes us to the Wikipedia page Fonds national d'art contemporain. Again, it is very underdeveloped and vague. This page says that it is the "largest collection of living art in France" [1]

There Seems to be nothing yet started on the Talk:Iván Navarro (artist) Talk page. We will have to add more pictures of the artist and his work, and possibly and info box.

The history of the talk page [1] is a rather short list that has had the most interaction it seems from our class access.

The history of the edits of the page [2] Is twice as long and it seems this page was first created in October 2013. Even though the edit list is longer, there are big time lapse spaces that may conclude this article has not been worked on very much and is underdeveloped.

“The water towers are a symbol of life, civilization, and activity,” - Navarro when discussing his piece This Land is Your Land. Navarro was inspired by the classic song, "this land is your land" by Woody Guthrie, which inspired him to create this sculptural piece that was displayed in Madison Square Park.

Should we split his wikipedia article into different sections about specific pieces?

Peer Review Article edit

Anslem Kiefer seems to have more information about him than some of the other articles we are trying to improve. I think it is nice that his Wikipedia page has more headings and seems to have more information to easily find with all the information. Out of the entire group, it seems that James has been the one to actually add to the article, and others have been doing more research. Can't be 100% sure of that, I have just gauged this off of our student page. It is nice to see how the article is more organized, but it is hard to do a peer review when I am not quite sure what the article looked liked before the group was assigned the article .
