Citation style of pecan pie

Thank you, truly, for your edits. When you add citations to any article, please be mindful of the citation style already in use there, per WP:CITEVAR. Your edits to pecan pie added short footnotes to an article where named references are already in use. I have changed them to be consistent with the existing article. Anil de Silva DYK

You 'll get today or tomorrow a DYK credit for Anil de Silva. I haven't pulled it from the queue, but I was seriously considering it, viewing the high number of errors in the article. Things I found so far:

The lead

"Anil de Silva (1907–1996)": This should be 1909, not 1907!

• The reference Gunawardena (p, 109) says she was born on 1907 while the reference by Mel gives the date of 1909. I had adopted the first date. I have corrected it to 1909 as suggested.

"The Life of the Buddha through Painting and Sculpture (1955), The Life of the Buddha Retold From Ancient Sources (1977), Chinese landscape Painting in the caves of Tunhuang (1964) and This Most High Prince John of Guant." The first two are the same book, published as "The Life of the Buddha Retold From Ancient Sources" in 1955. The other title of this book seems to be an error. The book was reprinted a few times. The other book is "The Art of Chinese Landscape Painting: In the Caves of Tun-huang" (original edition 1964, translated in English in 1967). The final book is "This moste highe prince: John of Gaunt, 1340-1399"

Fourth paragraph: "she learned to appreciate Asian art heritage which was a heritage of the Indian subcontinent and also the Buddhist religious art forms. " Really? Asian art heritage was a heritage of the Indian subcontinent? Please reread the source and rewrite the sentence.

• This reference of Gunawardena, p 109 mentions it as "Research Expedition to the Temples of Pagan in Upper Burma". However, I have removed the sentence now

Sixth paragraph: "Her team was composed of Romila Thapar as research assistant, Dominique Darbois as photographer, and Mingo Wong, and a Chinese woman translator." No, not Mingo Wong and a Chinese woman translator, Mingo Wong was the translator.

"Their study and publications brought to focus China's Buddhist heritage as against the British imperialism and Christianity then prevalent in the country. " ??? I can find the sentence in the source that inspired your line, but I can't find the same meaning in it.

Final paragraph: "In 1969, de Silva moved permanently to her cottage in Cambridge, England. " Perhaps, the source only says 1960s and I couldn't find anything supporting the 1969 date.

In any case, which "many books related to..." would that be? The book "The cave temples of Maichisan" is not a book by her, it contains 7 pages written by her.

Please write less but with fewer errors. Omit things you are not certain about, but don't include things which are simply wrong. Pulled from queue

After further checking I have pulled it from the queue anyway because the picture didn't even show these cave paintings but completely unrelated Chinese paintings (not cave paintings at all!) she used as an image in one of her books. • Fram I have deleted the img. I do not believe in playing tricks. In this case since her book included this img, I thought of using it. In the Pomelo article I did not use the img in the hook. Thanks for that article. For this you just have to make sure the total articles after you've finished is minimum 1.5 kb prose, so it could be 1.2 kb and you simply add 0.3 kb to get it there, though the existing sentences do need verifying and checking. Obviously though if you plan on DYKs they need to be expansions of whatever they're asking for these days. The goal with this is ensuring that as many stubs as possible are all consistently well sourced, clean minimum start entries.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:56, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

A tip on gender and language

Hi there! I know you've contributed a great number of articles, and helped bring many to DYK and GA, and thanks for all you do. However I just want to bring to your attention an issue I've noticed: On some of your recent articles about women, you give undue prominence to gender in the intro, which is actually a little bit sexist: a woman who happens to be an anthropologist or an artist is not a "woman anthropologist" or "a woman artist", but simply "an anthropologist" or "an artist". When gender has nothing to do with occupation, leave it out (Einstein was not a "male physicist", simply a physicist). Exceptions might include someone who is women's studies scholar or women's rights advocate (but note such a person could be male or female). It can be made perfectly clear which gender a person is without tying it to occupation (e.g. "X is an Japanese painter. She is..."). If you haven't already, please see Male is not the default and other tips at Writing about women, for ways to ensure articles on women are equal in structure and tone to articles about men.
