Saipancakes is the moniker used by artist and educator Nathan Shields when creating pancake artwork.[1][2][3][4][5]

Pancakes created by shield are often published in thematic groups. For example, there might be a group of trucks and machines that includes ambulances, tractors, excavators, bulldozers, firetrucks, etc., or animals that includes tigers, rhinos, monkeys, giraffes, zebras, elephants, etc.

About Nathan Shields edit

Shields, who teaches mathematics and art in Northwest Washington State, began creating artistic pancakes for his children in 2012 during a stay in Saipan.

Tools edit

According to Shield, he used this equipment to make his pancakes:[6]

  • 12-oz wide mouth squeeze bottles.
  • extra-wide spatula
  • 12.75-inch nonstick pan from Scanpan
  • Infrared thermometer (to ensure that he is cooking the pancakes at 460 °F)
