CUSTOM-FIT edit

Sorry, I tried to justify CUSTOM-FIT but I forgot to put the signature. The word represents a concept for a new manufacturing system (it is not only a machine, it is an overall concept: from capturing data to developing the product). We feel that we are not selling nothing we are just disseminating this way of manufacturing. --Customfite 12:23, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello! I hope you are feeling fine. I would like to request a small favour from you. As you are an admin (and I am not), I would like you to move (or delete) this template to this template. Notice that these two templates have similar contents in them and the latter has the more accurate term of football. Ritz Carlton Enniskerry edit

I am struggling to understand why you deleted the page for the Ritz Carlton in Enniskerry, The hotel is notable and is a major employer in the town as well as being a major change in the landscape and reputation of a small area like Enniskerry. Also you have left other Ritz Carltons and deleted the one from wicklow, why is this. I have no connection to the hotel group but the hotel is becoming well known in Irish political circles and does merit note. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rorser (talkcontribs) 00:13, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

The subject has been solved and you correctly deleted dead link which

was created when an admin deleted the article which in turns was previously reedited by an user with the better way/idea about linking to the page. So all just a missunderstanding on my part before I was able to solve the puzzle. Thank you for your time. Stonufka 09:31, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

I saw that you recently deleted the above article. Could you please explain why you deleted it? Sir Louis Mbanefo Article Deletion edit

You deleted an article I placed on Sir Louis Mbanefo, even though I had placed a Hang-on and had stated in the Talk page that I was the author of the web-based articles on The Blog subliminalcodesintext and www.helium.com which copyright you claim I violated. i am very concerned about this on largely on grounds of principle and would ask that you clarify how this can be resolved forthwith. Thanks very much- Edward C Keazor Seal67 (talk) 16:06, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Sir Louis Mbanefo: Proof edit

I note that in response to my query as to deletion of this article, you asked me for proof. Well, if you read my last talk on this page, I referred you to the very website where the original article was i.e My Blog, where I had left you a very personal message titled "Sir Louis Mbanefo- Wikipedia" http://subliminalcodesintext.blogspot.com/. Can I ask is there any more conclusive proof, did you not see my last talk item. Well to make my point further I am going to amend the original article with a huge message, approved for publication on Wikipedia, will that finally satisfy you? Also can I say that whilst I appreciate the effort you are making in general, it does seem a little excessive that you are once again asking me for proof, in this instance since i asked you to refer to the page in my previous talk on this page and you obviously didn't or at least have not said that you are dissatisfied with the proof provided. Please can you respond urgently thanks. Seal67 (talk) 04:27, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Aliya-Jasmine Sovani edit

Hi there. I am an experienced editor who informally adopted the inexperienced user Jamierush. The version you recently nominated for speedy deletion was not just a recreation of the previous one. This user worked hard on the Aliya-Jasmine Sovani article (not that that in itself is a reason to keep), consulted me extensively via MSN IM, and was genuinely interested in creating an article that meets Wikipedia standards. I started out by having her prove notability to me, and then made sure she provided enough references. I helped develop a tone that seemed much less fancruft-y than the previous version that was deleted. While I can see how some people could still think that there is too little notability, we have gathered enough ammo that I think we deserve a second AfD debate. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks! Tanthalas39 (talk) 21:58, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

  • Since I left this, I learned that the author is essentially an agent for the subject of the article. Sigh. I'm going to abstain from discussion; feel free to nominate for AfD (or even speedy). Tanthalas39 (talk) 16:46, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Perlat Musta deletion edit

Hello, in the interest of not biting the n00bs, would you mind if we undeleted this article? It's not really an A7, because being a goalkeeper in a national soccer team for many years and being one of the most "famous" footballers of his country does constitute a plausible claim to notability, don't you think? Just needs sourcing and other cleanup, of course. Cheers, Fut.Perf. 08:55, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello! edit

Hi! I created a page and it was deleted :( uh, I thought it was a good page which could help mainly women. It gives information on a popular site which helps women on their body image which I believe is important especially to those who have been considering surgery and illegal injections which is many. Waffle Ass edit

Just curious on why my article on Waffle Ass was deleated and I was sent a message that it is inapropriate while Wikipedia has article on Anal sex. It was brought to my attention by "DarkHorse?" that it must be verifiable. So I typed in Donkey Punch in the search bar and hit go in Wikipedia and low and behold, there is an Article on Donkey punch. Now I am no kamura sutra wizard but I am pretty sure that donkey punch is,in fact, a made up term for a sexual act that doesn't exist and even states that in the article by saying (The term is not strictly defined or well-documented; at least one source attests to the move being "made up"). Now when I wrote my article I put in there that it is possible for this to be false but some people believe it is real.

So I guess I am just curious, does Waffle Ass not exist because you say it doesn't or is there a Wikipedia board of trustees that sits down and agrees on what is real or fake. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sardoc8401 (talkcontribs) 10:33, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi, would like to know why this article was deleted? It says it does not recognize why exactly Wayne is notable but he has done work in Leith FM (his radio programmes address is www.myspace.com/noiseupthursdays) and has interviewed people of note including members of Guns N Roses. He has also interviewed a lot of musicians and writes for a site called Daily Music Guide. You can find some of his work there. As a freelance journalist wayne needs press like Wikipedia to alert people to who he is, and just allow potential employers and people who apprichate his work, to learn a bit more about him. If we post some articles and reviews from his own work on the Wikipedia page could the article remain? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.41.79.154 (talk) 08:30, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Bitte um Vermittlung edit

Hallo Lectonar

MfG, Robert --88.68.24.81 (talk) 00:38, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

You need to be aware that the fellow who is asking you to do this is a user with a long history of abusive bevaviour here at en:Wikipedia and at de:Wikipedia that led to his being banned at both sites. You can pick up on some of his history at User:Fox53 or you can go back in the history of Berliner FC Dynamo to get a handle on his approach. He's strongly POV and uncooperative, so be mindful of dealing with him. If he was anything approaching objective and civil he wouldn't be here asking you to do his editing for him. Heads up. Wiggy! Margaret Saunders Ott edit

Hi. I wrote an article on Music Teachers National Association Teacher of the Year, Olga Samaroff Stokowski's assistant, first woman to receive a Master's Degree from Julliard, Margaret Saunders Ott. It was deleted by you. It would seem that those reasons are important enough to justify an entry. Is there any way to recover that article so I can see if your reasoning is valid? Thanks. Jemimasurrender (talk) 02:45, 9 January 2009 (UTC) Thanks for the answer and welcome, L. Is there any way to recover the deletion so I can continue to work on it? I wrote it on a friend's computer and didn't save it. Thanks for the help. J —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jemimasurrender (talkcontribs) 15:36, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

უმაღლესი ლიგა edit

I couldn't find the version of this page on another project. Could you point that to me?Synchronism (talk) 08:54, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw that. I don't think they're the same.Synchronism (talk) 09:02, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
They were different titles. I don't read Georgian. From what I saw they didn't look similar. The Ka:wiki article is simply an infobox.[4] This had text.Synchronism (talk) 09:09, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Anyway, the AfT process may have resulted in more transparency if they are indeed the same. I'm not really hurt, I just wanted to know what the article was about.Synchronism (talk) 09:13, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Can you transwiki the text to the ka:wiki?Synchronism (talk) 09:32, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
It appears to be a template or some other kind of protected page. I couldn't edit it even with my SUL. I added the content to the talk page. Sorry about the deletion review. I like to follow through with pages I come across doing RC patrol. Now what?Synchronism (talk) 10:03, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm not entirely enthused about this interaction either for a number of reasons, but I am sorry to start a deletion review. I'm also not the quickest at the keys either. To tell you the truth, for some reason much of my earnest activity at AfT gets a cold reception, so I tread carefully there now. I have been lambasted for suggesting CSDA2 there, even when I verified the article already existed elsewhere. Synchronism (talk) 10:14, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

I just wanted to apologize again for the premature DRV, and for not relaying a proper salutation at the beginning of this post. Best wishes to you, we'll gracefully meet again I do hope, Synchronism (talk) 10:27, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your participation in my recent RfA, which failed with 90/38/3; whether you supported, opposed or remained neutral.

Special thanks go out to Moreschi, Dougweller and Frank for nominating me, and I will try to take everyone's comments on board.

Thanks again for your participation. I am currently concentrating my efforts on the Wikification WikiProject. It's fun! Please visit the project and wikify a few articles to help clear the backlog. If you can recruit some more participants, then even better.

Apologies if you don't like RfA thankspam, this message was delivered by a bot which can't tell whether you want it or not. Feel free to remove it. Itsmejudith (talk), 22:47, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

deleted page edit

I was going through the new pages, checking spelling, adding stub tags and such - I came across the IProperty.com Group page, and pasted the db-spam tag on it, looked at page history, and when I came back it was gone. I didn't do anything wrong did I? I looked at the deletion log, and as I understood it, you were the one who deleted it - so I'm assuming I did something right, and you just happened to be there that quick to delete the page. I've never tagged anything for delete before, and just want to make sure I didn't screw up. Thanks. — Ched (talk) 08:18, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Almighty? ... lulz. Well I appreciate what you guys do and all, but that may be stretching it jusssstt a little bit. Having filed my first 3O tonight and given the history of the other editor - I'm just a little on the jumpy side. Thanks. Have a good one. — Ched (talk) 08:25, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Nick Hinton edit

You, and your other editors are blatantly ignoring the fact that this artist has had released albums on a major independent label and that can be verified at the AllMusic page I included in my article for this artist. You are also completely disregarding new editors, not allowing for new pages, showing prejudice it seems towards a page when there are 100000s of pages like it that meet less notability. You will most probably delete this too, or ignore it - but to be honest - it is admins like you and editors with trigger fingers like those who requested the speedy deletion in the first place that are doing a dis-service to the Wikipedia community. 3 years ago, this would not have happened, and an article would not ONLY be supported if an artist had had charted hits, etc. It would have supported the fact that this person EXISTS and is a member of the HUGE independent music community. To ignore this is simply, ignorant. Oh - and please don't quote me back the rules in your robotic Wikipedian lack of humanity kind of way. Thank you. Calmspeak (talk) 18:32, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

LUNA TBWA edit

Do we really need to wait to see what they say on the translation page before removing an obvious advertisement by a company about itself (LUNA TBWA)? —Largo Plazo (talk) 13:39, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Funny, I just wanted to ask you if you understand enough of it to ascertain that it is indeed advertising. I saw no Serbian tag on your userpage. Lectonar (talk) 13:42, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
OK, fair enough, I was relying on what I was able to make out without reporting it to everyone else. No, I don't speak Serbian (or Slovenian) but am familiar enough with Slavic languages to have figured out a little bit of it. I'll write a note on the needs-translation page. And clearly the article is about the author. —Largo Plazo (talk) 13:45, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
No problem; but just the fact that someone has a conflict of interest regarding the article does not always mean that it is advertising(it is only like that in about 95% of the cases :)) ). Nice assortment on languages you have there, anyway. Would you mind dropping in at WP:PNT from time to time?; I'm something like the residing admin over there, as it is such a niche, and we could always use more eyes. Cheers and happy editing. Lectonar (talk) 13:52, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I've taken a couple of looks at WP:PNT. Unfortunately, my vocabulary isn't up to par even in my best second language, French, and when I look at articles in that language that are of any interest to me, I feel daunted. But I'll keep looking from time to time. I did create the article Manifesto of the 343 from the corresponding article on French Wikipedia. —Largo Plazo (talk) 12:35, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Could you please explain more fully... edit

Could you please explain why you completed the deletion of Brandon Neely?

You placed an A7 on the article. I really don't see how this could apply. The man is one of the less than half a dozen Guantanamo guards who has given an affidavit on the abuse of Guantanamo captives he observed, and participated in. I believe this establishes notability.

I started the article, then spent an hour or so reading his affidavit, I would have finished fleshing the article out, if I hadn't been caught up in reading the whole document. It is quite long.

I know many of the wikipedia's quality control volunteers are overly hasty, and don't really bother looking at the articles they nominate, their references, and don't really give the topics the consideration they deserve, when they place tags. In my opinion that is what happend in this case.

Candidly, Geo Swan (talk) 13:37, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

I got your reply.
I will thank you for userifying it to User:Geo Swan/Guantanamo/review/Brandon Neely.
Thanks!
I'd like to make a couple of comments about applying BLP1E, in general, and to this article.
  1. I have found what others consider "one event" can be very arbitrary. It seems to me that when others describe their concerns over articles that cover "one event" their concerns often innocently lapses from WP:NPOV.
    1. Neely volunteered to serve in Guantanamo in early January 2002;
    2. Neely experienced years of guilt and remorse over his role in abusing captives, and came forward, risking his army pension, to testify about what he witnessed and participated in, in December 2008.
By my count that is two events. In my experience, when an observer's personal opinion is that an event is not important, or when they discount the credibility of the principals -- they are much more willing to conflate what are really multiple events, and call them a single event. In my opinion BLP1E is really a very flawed metric. These opinions that a series of event are not important enough to consider separately, or that the principals in the event(s) are not credible, is a personal interpretation. It is not based on some authoritative source, or collection of authoritative sources stating "these are not an important events". Sometimes we have to base our conclusions on our personal opinions. But, I think it is very important to recognize that is what we are doing, and not fool ourselves that our conclusion is an objective one.
One wag made me laugh by asserting that Tony Blair didn't deserve an article of his own, that his article lapsed from compliance from BLP1E, and should be merged with George W. Bush, because no-one would ever have heard of him if he hadn't supported George Bush's Iraq policies.
  2. I started contributing to the wikipedia long before we had a BLP policy. I'll agree protecting private persons from libel and slander, and protecting the wikipedia from lawsuits over libel and slander are very important. Potential instances of libel and slander merit authorizing administrators to perform speedy deletions. But BLP1E got thrown into the policy. Personally, I think this was a big mistake. I don't think it belongs. Lapses from BLP1E do not put the wikipedia at risk of lawsuits over libel or slander, and they don't put private persons at risk. Concerns over "one event" are not emergencies. Concerns over "one event" should not be grounds for speedy deletion. In my opinion the policy should either make clear that a concern over "one event" is not grounds for deletion, or, preferably, BLP1E should be moved from WP:BLP to some other policy or guideline. In my opinion a concern over "one event" should be grounds for a tag, or at most, a {{prod}} -- not a speedy.

Proposed deletion of Jon burrow edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Jon burrow, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable, no reliable or verifiable sources.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Mistagging and deleting page "death by wikipedia edit

I see you have deleted page "death by wikipedia" and tagged it vandalism. Please note that the phenomenon exists, that it has been named (and shamed) as such in the newspapers and media (note washingtonpost), that references for this are provided. I hope you will consider the evidence and will not remove the page in the future. It is clearly not vandalism, and if you want a page deleted, please go through a proper procedure - deleting it based on your own POV does not seem appropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PrecioUS-USA (talkcontribs) 10:11, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Vitaly Potapenko edit

Hello. I see that you declined my request for semi-protection of the Vitaly Potapenko article. Can I explain the situation further? At least 11 IP addresses have been adding the same item of misinformation since mid-January:

  • 12.30.206.21
  • 12.167.254.18
  • 66.94.91.226
  • 70.217.56.228
  • 75.196.115.0
  • 75.219.0.211
  • 75.219.0.232
  • 75.219.165.199
  • 75.223.97.66
  • 96.11.189.125
  • 216.37.197.242

I don't see the point of trying to leave warnings with all of these accounts. The person behind them knows damn well that what he is doing is vandalism. I've found the GQ article he cites in the library, and it doesn't support his claims at all. He actually gave me a page number once, but that page is an ad for DKNY watches.

I don't mean to rant at you, but I'm the only person who seems to be watching this article, and I'm sick of reverting vandalism every day. I really think semi-protection is the most sensible solution. Zagalejo^^^ 09:05, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

A couple of comments:
  1. The article was already semi-protected from January 28 to February 4, and again from February 8 to February 22. If it hadn't been semi-protected during those stretches, you'd be seeing a lot more reverts.
  2. From what I can tell, there hasn't been a constructive IP edit to the article since January of last year. Almost every IP edit since then has been related to the "meatballs" issue. (The only exception is this, which doesn't seem to be true, anyway.)
At what point is semi-protection justified? The article has again been vandalized since I last spoke to you, and I don't think the vandalism is going to stop anytime soon. It's like we're in a staring contest here. I'll leave a warning at the talk page of the last IP to edit, but that probably won't accomplish anything in the long run. Zagalejo^^^ 18:17, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I appreciate your help. Zagalejo^^^ 19:24, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
