let people to be free of writing and delete your own writing/s edit

If you know about yourself what you are, than let others alone and let them free to their own way of writing, and things start to write, it's a free encyclopedia and not a dictatorship Look at what is written about Dadaism and perhaps your way of thinking get more free, what the aim is of a free encyclopedia I do not see where you get the nerve to take away my article, a biography which I just got started. It is a free encyclopedia everybody can write. You have nothing better to do than other people their effort to inform others removed. Do you understand what Free means? If you think you are right, than you have to deleted all articles of artists, professors, researchers, composers, poets, historical figures and free thinkers —Preceding unsigned comment added byMoniqueChrstRoest (talkcontribs) 21:50, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello Monique,
I didn't delete your article. However, I can see that it was deleted because it does not meet Wikipedia's guidelines. You have made arequest for undeletion. Another editor has replied to this request and explained the reasons why this article was deleted, and given links to the relevant guidelines.
Please have a look at the link I posted yesterday on your Talk page, Your first article, which gives some very useful advice about what articles are suitable for Wikipedia. The New contributor's help pagemay also be useful to you.

Posted on my talk page edit

I appreciate you trying to keep an eye out for people who may have a biased opinion on things, however the statement "because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article" creating a bias to "write about that topic in a (non)neutral and objective way" is very very untrue and particularly libelous in my opinion. I would like to put an end to this, I do not represent the band and I am not affiliated with them in any way. I am merely a fan of their work and a patron to there concerts, which I believe makes me a knowledgeable and reliable 3rd party to create and edit a page about that musical group. That just seems fair doesn't it? Maelstromlusby (talk) 03:54, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

The message I left on your talk page begins "I notice that one of the first articles you have edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest." (emphasis added). Your choice of username gives the impression that you are a representative of the subject of the only article which you have edited. Your username should represent you, not any other group. If you edit or create an article which is virtually identical to your username, especially when you have made no other edits at all, other editors will quite naturally assume a conflict of interest.katherine_a (talk) 05:37, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm alright I see but the word choice you selected was dubious. I am merely a fan of their music, and I did select a more personal touch, adding my hometown, rather than the fact that the band is from Baltimore. But I appreciate you trying to improve this wonderful website. Keep going strong Maelstromlusby (talk) 05:46, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Lusby is their hometown, according to the band's Myspace page. Honestly, you're going to continue to raise red flags with that username. Just to go back to my welcome message to you, I'm sorry that you found the message to be upsetting or offensive, however I do think that accusing other editors of libel is inappropriate. We are all here for the same reason -- to make the project better. I assume good faith, and hope that you will also. As I said in my very first message to you: Welcome to Wikipedia. katherine_a (talk) 06:24, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

July 2010 edit

Just so you know, Katherine, you've completely ruined our afternoon. We have nothing left to do but the inevitable - we must slaughter the children for fun.

Yours faithfully,

        The people who wrote this...

Stokesvale Head Shop is a crack house first established by Keelin Green (also known as Crack The Ripper) in 1901. It has a history steeped in magic, blood and... hallucinogenic substances. It is suspected that Mr. Keelin Green's estranged cousins, Iifa Green and Kay-T Bean are of vampiric lineage and often attend the Stokesvale soirées. Kay-T Bean enjoys roling up and down the flat pitch near the trampoline that is still up, apparently. And Iifa prefers to feast upon the customers of Mr. Green's crack house. Another relative, Saira McDonnell, who is confirmed to be a werewolf, enjoys exprimenting by using the sandbox. Ahem. Klayr Buffy is one of the most notable vampire annihilators of the 20th century but she will not kill her cousins (or any of Iifa Green's twelve elusive children - but that's a story for another page). North West Crackhead Union wants to make it a fully international head shop as it is one of Ireland's most famous crack-providing venues. It has hosted many a vampire-werewolf match. It has also hosted North West Wolven Cup finals and has seen the Australian national Crackhead Asscociation take too many.

Have a nice day. I know we are. Can't say the same about the kids though... —Precedingunsigned comment added by 86.45.77.226 (talk) 16:45, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Just letting you know, next time you should use a7 criteria. Thanks. -Regancy42 (talk) 08:00, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Is A7 really appropriate in this situation? The other option I considered was G10. My impression was that A7 was for articles that intend to be about a person, rather than being entirely a disparaging remark. And cheers for the feedback, I do appreciate it. katherine_a (talk) 08:09, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Both a7 and g10 would be suitable in this situation. A7 because it did not credibly assert the significance of the person and g10 because it was a mild attack. -Regancy42 (talk) 10:33, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

CyberVale edit

I have just created the page and the whole article is about a recently built(still undergoing construction) Technology Park.Since the company itself is an new entrant I do not have sufficient details to be posted. So I have hereby taken the information from the company's official website. So please do not list it for deletion till further details are announced so that I can make some amendment.

Please remove this page from the files listed for speedy deletion. This article is an introduction about the future project that is currently being implemented.

A.arvind.arasu (talk) 03:19, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

The entire text of the article is copied from the developer's website. You may not post copyrighted materials on Wikipedia. If the subject of the article is sufficiently notable to warrant an article, then there will be reliable third-party sources of information which you can use to create the article. If the only source of information is the company's own website, then that would quite clearly suggest that the subject is not notable. Notability aside, the copyright violation is a serious problem, and you must not copy and paste material from other websites into a Wikipedia article.
I strongly suggest that you read the policy on criteria for speedy deletion. In particular: The creator of a page may not remove a Speedy Delete tag from it. Only an editor who is not the creator of a page may do so. A creator who disagrees with the speedy deletion should instead add {{hangon}} to the page and explain the rationale on the page's discussion page.katherine_a (talk) 03:31, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello Olivier,
If Hublot, as the copyright holder, would like to "donate" this copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it must be released under the appropriate licenses. Please visitDonating copyrighted materials to see how to do this. Specific instructions on how to proceed are under the heading "Granting us permission to copy material already online". This section explains how to either place the license statement on the original work, or contact the Wikimedia foundation. Please keep in mind also that the content of articles must be appropriate to the encyclopaedia, as well as being correctly licensed.
As you work within Hublot, you should also make yourself aware of Wikipedia's guidelines on Conflict of Interest if you plan on editing the Hublot article yourself. If the company does choose to appropriately license the content, my suggestion to you would be to discuss the material on the article's talk page, and allow other editors (who don't have a conflict of interest) to incorporate the material into the article. katherine_a (talk) 08:28, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I thought I was following your instructions and put my answer on my page, apologies for the confusion ("If I left you a message: please answer on your talk page, then place {Talkback|your username} on my talk.")

I would like to provide some information for the Goodwizz page so that it can be posted. It was previously noted for deletion as I think not enough information was provided. I am here providing information so that you see that like Zoosk or Badoo, Goodwizz may have a page on Wikipedia too.

Goodwizz is a social meeting network to go beyond first contact with about 75K users in 180 countries, Alexa ranking of 230,230 worldwide. Zoosk and other social networks have an information page to explain their services in a useful way to their users. I am the owner of Goodwizz, and likewise I would like to provide information to users about the concept and features. Here are some articles from newspaper about Goodwizz. The aim of the page was to familiarize people with the concept - playing games to improves connections and contacts between people online - and provide information about the features. This is informational and respects the concern that was raised: this is not a personal memorial or is not a way to do dating on wikipedia.

Here are some articles and a description, as well as the content of the page so that you can have visibility. I would be glad if we could post a page, once I get your opinion we can proceed maybe.

PAGE File:Http://www.goodwizz.com/images/logo-wy319.png[ Goodwizz: Go beyond first contact] Goodwizz: Beyond first contact

Goodwizz is a social meeting network that aims to revolutionize online meeting by going beyond first contact. Goodwizz is now present in 180 countries, and innovates through: 1- The combination of a full social network with a matchmaking to make new contacts, for a more comfortable meeting experience 2- More interactivity through personality games, to better connect 3- Meeting services that provide guidance, such as optional coaching, meeting location suggestions based on personality and other services relevant to making new contacts online.

Goodwizz was created to help people connect online, and make new contacts.

How to better connect with people online? There are many ways to connect online and according to psychology, games are one of the best ways. Children at their youngest age use this principle and connect with other children through games.

Based on this principle, Goodwizz:beyond first contact was made to help people connect. For people who would like to make new contacts based on their affinities and get to now the people better, Goodwizz is the best place.

  1. Presence

Goodwizz was created in 2010 and is now present all around the globe in 180 countries. The social network puts in touch people from different communities and allows them to discover each other through games and services, thereby going beyond first contact.

  1. Origin

Goodwizz was born out of a market study with the collaboration of 200 people. The outcomes are that many people find it hard to connect and get to know people online, despite the many communications means available to them. Among other reasons, people mentioned emails that remain impersonal and need for further interactive tools, too many contacts, unawareness on how to relate for some people and the lack of ways to know who to connect with and according to which interests. Three main needs emerged: less pressure to meet people online, more interactivity and more guidance. Goodwizz was born to meet these needs.

  1. Features

Goodwizz features: - a full social network with ability to have a profile, post pictures and videos, share thoughts on a wall, invite friends, send them virtual gifts - social games, radio and ads to have fun - personality games to better connect with new contacts - a filter based on affinities to know which contacts one should connect with - a open profile system where one can filter new contacts according to activities and wishes.

Hi again. I still don't see any message on your talk page, so I'll assume the above covers it. Ok, so there's a few issues here:
1. The article was deleted by an admin because it did not indicate why its subject is important or significant. I tagged the article for deletion because I could see no credible claim of the importance or significance of the subject. An admin agreed, and deleted it. While that was the reason the article was deleted, it's worth noting a few other points...
2. Notability - all articles should be about subjects which are notable. That means that they have received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. The guidelines specific to web content can be found here. Looking at the links you have provided:

  • Buffalo News - Trivial coverage only (a brief mention of the nature of the content)
  • Crunchbase - not an independent source. This is equivalent to a press release.
  • AuFeminin - trivial coverage
  • Comment Ca Marche - trivial coverage
  • Edhec - it's difficult to determine the context of this, but the content is clearly not from a source independent of the subject
  • BuzzFlash - very very trivial mention indeed.
  • Recontreine - again, trivial. Like the others, it reads as a slightly-reworded press release, rather than detailed coverage of the subject.

It is very important that a subject be covered by independent, reliable sources, so that a neutral, non-biased, encyclopaedic article can be written (and of course properly referenced). When only one source (the subject itself) is available, it's virtually impossible to write anything besides yet another press release. Goodwizz is a very new site, in an extremely crowded market. If it takes off, the reliable, independent coverage will come. Until then, it's probably too soon for a Wikipedia article. One more thing...

3. I'd strongly recommend that you read Wikipedia's Conflict of interest guidelines. Writing about a subject to which you are closely connected (such as your own website) is strongly discouraged. Maintaining a WP:NPOV is one of Wikipedia's core policies, and it's almost impossible to remain neutral when writing about yourself or your own projects.

Go talk to journalists, show them why you're new and different and exciting, find the compelling feature or angle, get those reliable, independent sources writing in-depth feature articles about your site. Get the attention of Wired and GigaOM and CNET and Le Monde's technologies section. Get noticed, and get notable. But that doesn't start here.Katherine (talk) 21:52, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

HI edit

Have you seen PREDATOR (1987 film)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alienxenomorgh (talkcontribs) 17:04, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. Yes, I've seen both: the article and the film =) I reverted your edit to that article for the reasons noted in the edit summary. You can see the reasons why we usually don't include film ratings by reading WP:FILMRATING, which is part of theManual of Style for film articles. Just including the rating a film received in a single country introduces an unnecessary bias into an article, rather than representing the world view. Sometimes there are good reasons to include well-referenced information about a film's ratings, and some of these reasons are discussed at WP:FILMRATING. But generally speaking, just a mention of the US (or UK or Australian or Kenyan...) rating doesn't belong in the article. Katherine (talk) 00:00, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Special pages edit

How do you create the 'Special Page' to follow 'My10's' talk pages? Thanks.Buster Seven Talk 15:03, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Buster. Do you mean this page? It's just the Related changes page formy tracking page, where I've listed my new editors.
The related changes page (which you can access for any article, look for a link in the left-pane Toolbox, or just go to Special:RecentChangesLinked/<nameofpage>) shows any changes to pages linked from wherever you are. So because my tracking page has links to the new editors' talk pages, changes to those linked pages register as related changes, and show up on that page.
I use the same thing to maintain a manual watchlist. It's a pretty useful little thing. Katherine (talk) 01:43, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
