Jon Maine, born in Wells Somerset in 1966. Has been resident of that area all of his life more recently in Shepton Mallet after Wells and Pilton. Leaving school with few qualifications he started a family in 1986 and has 3 boys James, Dominic and Ben. In 1988 he started working for himself in the building trade.
Also interested in vernacular buildings he has tried to focus on those amongst other less interesting tasks including scaffolding erection.
In 1993 he placed an offer on 8 Market Place in Shepton Mallet which was a grade 2 listed building on the English Heritage and Mendip Council Buildings at Risk lists. Succesful in his bid it took 10 years to get started on the project which he eventually did in 2004. Finishing in in late 2008.During this period he got divorced retaining the boys full time and then got remarried to Juliet thus gaining 2 step children Justine and Dicken.
