I have lost all interest in contributing to the Wikimedia Foundation projects; I find that the time and effort required of me to deliver and ensure the existence of quality work here fail to come close to my valuation of other things in life (family and career). A hearty thanks to all who have striven to deliver quality products; I find your works a joy to read. Lat	Malaysian cartoonist	98%	2Start	7 FA	2010-07-02	Seriously, this is a cartoonist that break the mold in my book. He became a datuk because of his cartoons! How hardcore can you get? I love his books. Perhaps the reviewers are right, we all want something innocent and fun that we can no longer get back. The article before I touched it was practically unsourced; most of the information were from primary sources (Lat's books) or were probably original conjectures. Article was also A class. This article was Today's Featured Article for 2011-03-05.
The Kampung Boy	Malaysian graphic novel	90%	1Stub	5 GA	2010-07-15	Lat's best known work; nothing in my opinion captures the idyllic childhood like he did. Funny enough, I knew I have read it but I never had it in my collection... possibly I had done so in one of my schools' library? Article's previous state was mostly personal conjecture or descriptive of the book. A thank you to Awadewit for tightening up the prose.
Kampung Boy (TV series)	Malaysian animated series	100%	0Unassessed	7 FA	2010-07-15	A hoax about this television series was initially at Kampung Boy (the novel). An IP put in a request to create the article; the content was total bull (a story so ridiculous, it was an insult to the integrity of the work) but an administrator accepted and fulfilled the request on the basis of WP:AGF... the hoax persisted for years until someone dared to challenge it (I believe the mark of an admin in creating hoax content validates it in the eyes of others—an admin did it, so it must be okay somehow—hence no one did a thing until that challenger appeared); this incident perfectly illustrates a failing of this project. I got involved during my research on Lat, and managed to get the insulting content deleted. Now at least there is some encyclopaedic and true content here. Article was also GA class.
Battle of Towton	English military history	90%	2Start	7 FA	2011-01-04	Fascinated with mediaeval warfare, I was hooked onto the Wars of the Roses by this image of the Battle of Towton, the frontispiece of Philip A. Haigh's The Military Campaigns Of The Wars Of The Roses; the hunt to investigate if the image is in the public domain took years but was very worth it! The attribution of the "largest and bloodiest battle ever fought on English soil" adds mystique to it. Article was also A class. This article was Today's Featured Article for 2011-03-29.
Tewkesbury Medieval Festival	Mediaeval re-enactment	98%	2Start	5 GA	2011-01-21	Rewrote the article after identifying some parts as copyviolations: the article is small, as reliable sources are limited.
Conan the Barbarian (1982 film)	Action film	88%	3C	7 FA	2011-08-30	I actually began a rewrite for this article in 2010 (offline). At that time, it was in a terrible mess, basically a collection of unsourced information and original research. Sad to say, it only proves one thing for me. Articles in a bad shape tend to remain the same state or degrade even faster, attracting the same type of edits. Fortunately, this film is a controversial cult classic and many reliable sources are available (much time was spent to dig them out). Burn-outs and personal issues dragged the writing of this article a bit. I really have to thank Yomangani for the selfless copy-editing of this article; it trimmed the article to a readable size.
