First conference of the 2024 PVL season
2024 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Teams [[#Participating teams|]] Venue(s) 5 pvl .ph
The 2024 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Invitational Conference was the eighteenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League and its nineth conference as a professional league.
This will be the second and last conference for the 2024 season. This season marks the PVL would be only holding two conferences instead of three, with the Invitational Conference merged with the Reinforced Conference.[ 3]
A total of fourteen teams competed in this tournament; two foreign guest teams will be introduced before the start of the semis. Each team will be allowed to be reinforced by one foreign player.[ 4] Strong Group Athletics changed its name to Zus Coffee Thunderbells.[ 5]
This conference will also be the start of the rookie draft for those Filipino and foreign student athletes who ended up playing on their collegiate teams and are set to play in the professional league.[ 6] [ 7]
The application for the upcoming Rookie Draft was originally scheduled to end on May 31, 2024, but it was later announced by PVL Commissioner Sherwin Malonzo that it will be moved to June 12, 2024, so that rookies can still have time to prepare the documents needed for the draft.[ 8]
The draft combine will be scheduled on June 25–26, 2024, and the draft proper will be scheduled on July 6, 2024.[ 9]
Ineligibility of a national team player to participate in the conference
edit
PVL players that are part of the Philippine women's national volleyball team are ineligible to participate in the upcoming conference to focus on their upcoming international league stint.[ 10]
