I'm pretty busy right now to do any real work on articles. Could you just cut and paste the information into the talk page at the Valve Developer Community? Hello. I noticed that you commented on the deletion review I made for Sven Co-op. I didn't realize it before, but I saw that a new article can still be created at Sven Co-op, so asking for an undelete at the deletion review is actually unnecessary. I think that it would simply be best to write a new article which takes care of the "non-notable" and WP:SOFTWARE problems, which I plan to do (although I happen to be somewhat busy at the moment myself). Yomangani has copied the old article to my userspace ( User:MarphyBlack/Sven Co-op ) which I think can be used as a base, or at least salvaged somewhat. This is where I will be putting together the new article draft, so if you have time and would like to make any edits, you can make them right there. I would be very appreciative of your assistance. Would you mind canning the incivil edit summaries and putting a lid on the personal attacks you are making when you edit? Edit summaries are good - very good - but they're also not generally erasable. Administrators are likely, therefore, to treat incivility and personal attacks via edit summaries with due consideration. You could be blocked from editing without further warning if you continue. If you're referring to this edit, then I'm sorry about that. But User:Nintendude's absolute ineptedness and constant vandalising of Wikipedia pretty much annoyed me. I generally removed spam links with an edit summary showing my complete contempt for YTMND or Newgrounds, although I have never used personal attacks in the summaries. Well, I found three seemingly-notable review sites, if it matters. Change in article. Prior to that, I also found several Konami press releases which made a case for the wild popularity of the game amon children (it prompted the creation of an animated television show). However, in that AFD you presented an argument that showed you either failed to use Google properly, or had little idea what counts as a reliable source. Continued questionable edits to Radiation Poisoning in Fiction... edit

It appears as though we will be fighting a losing battle with respect to keeping "Metroid Prime", "Phazon" and other questionable additions to the "In Fiction" section of the Radiation Poisoning article. I'd like to suggest that "In Fiction" section be moved and a separate article created. I actually think it's just one user TheEvilBlueberryCouncil (talk · contribs), of which every single edit on the 27th was just to revert my edits. He's one of those guys who thinks YTMNDs are encyclopedic, and should be mentioned articles such as Take Me Out (song). I assume you were speaking to me- I was the one who brought up the McD's worker thing, and it was poor phrasing on my part.

What I was doing when I brought it up- and if you reread what I said, you will see this- is that Englund's comments were only noteworthy because he is a respected academic rather than a McDonald's worker; the other person was trying to say that Englund's comments were worthy of mention regardless, which I don't believe. I completely understand the value of verifiable sources- which is why I was hesitant to leave Englund's comments in, since we can't verify them without a reliable translator.

I cannot believe I have to jump through process loops just to get this stuff reversed. There's no real process to getting an image deleted, 2 users thought it should be deleted (one which deleted it), and another disagreed. No consensus seems to be needed for deletions, so when I come up with some new information, such as Yamauchi isn't a celebrity as Chowbok claims, I should just be bold and do the right thing.

This is really incessant box ticking from you guys. I could just have got another fair use image and uploaded it to Yamauchi2.jpg in which case you'd probably go through the rigmarole of tagging and 7 days. When I see something is wrong, I do something about it. You deleted an image of Twiggy from the 1960s after it was tagged by User:Abu badali as rfu (I found out who tagged it using IRC). I am not even going to explain why that was an absolutely ridiculous decision on your behalf, and I uploaded a new Twiggy 60s picture. Are you telling me had I wanted to upload the original deleted image, I'd have to take it through DRV? For your information, I spoke to admins User:Zscout370, User:Geni and User:Slowking Man on IRC.

I'm still confused about this. I checked the link you gave me and I can see where it says something about the tag being added erroneously to album art. However, the licensing tag used for this image clearly states: To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.

So again, if the album art is self-sourced, why does the license tag ask the user to add a source (not to mention a detailed fair use rationale, which is also missing from this image)? Also, I can't find a policy that says album art doesn't require a source to be added. I haven't retagged the image, but I'm trying to understand this. TheQuandry 20:17, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

There are quite a few threads on this. If you see the checkuser case I linked, that was due to a sockpuppet tagging a lot of album art as unsourced and getting them deleted to the detriment of the encyclopedia. In these kind of cases, it is the copyright holder which is important, the source (whoever clicked scan) is largely irrelevant. Some relevant threads include:

E-gamers - what category is being used? edit

I'm not trying to PO people here, and this is a serious question from a non-sports person (the only sports I do are downhill skiing and figure skating (and a bit of college hockey years ago))... What criteria is being used for these people? My reading of the WP:BIO is along these lines...

From Wikipedia:Notability (people) Where do e-gamers fall into the standard categories? They are not:

Political figures

local political figures

entertainment or opinion makers

actors or TV Personalities

Published authors, editors and photographers

Painters, sculptors, architects, engineers, and other professionals

Persons achieving renown or notoriety for their involvement in newsworthy events, such as by being assassinated

Can they be considered under the following:?

Sportspeople/athletes/competitors who have played in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming, or at the highest level in mainly amateur sports or other competitive activities that are themselves considered notable, including college sports in the United States.

They aren't sportspeople or athletes - but they may be competitors; is this the category where their notability is being justified? I didn't think that this was the intent of this category; I read this as those that are actually physically competing. If e-athletes are to be judged under this criteria, I would urge a notation being made as such to prevent further confusion on the issue.

As I couldn't put them in any of the above categories, I fell back to the basic:

"The person made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in their specific field. - All of these criteria are in fact simply special cases of the general primary criterion of multiple non-trivial published works from independent sources. A person who is "part of the enduring historical record" will have been written about, in depth, independently in multiple history books on that field, by historians.

There may be articles written about these people, to whom I have no animosity, but can it be said that they are making a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in their specific field?

I do agree that several of the persons on the AFD list do have independent notability, and have noted so on their pages. However when looking at the field, I still say that these don't qualify as I don't see how they are part of the enduring historical record... (article - began playing):

I've never read WP:BIO. But I have been quite active in WP:WEB and Computer Games related discussions as well as general AFD. I have never heard of any of the MLG teams up until they cropped up on AFD, but if there's multiple reliable sources commenting on the subject, I usually go for keep. No, I do not consider e-sports competitors as athletes. I mentioned in some AFDs, but compare the teams to anything in list of webcomics, and you'll find that the teams have more reliable sources, greater coverage, and a shitload more money than anything on the list. Dresden Codak's greatest claim to fame is having appeared as a throwaway link on a daily zeitgeist. Of what possible use is an article on a gay furry website.
