Maximian's caesar, Constantius Chlorus defeated the Franks in the Rhine estuary and their ally Carausius near Bononia in 293.

Maximian moved to Spain in 296 to increase defenses against the Moors and the Franks and than moved to Mauretania to fight the rebel Berber Bavares and Quinquegentiani. His caesar, Constantius Chlorus, defeated emperor Allectus of Roman Britain.

Maximian advanced deep into the Atlas Mountains.

The Berbers were defeated in 298. That year Constantius Chlorus had to deal with an Alamannic invasion into Gaul.

There were no major campaigns in the west between 298 and 300, while Diocletian and Galerius were occupied in several fronts in the east.
