I'm a registered nurse who specializes in oncology drug development formerly working on phase 1 clinical trials at Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Nashville, Tennessee. I am now at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Before going into nursing school, I studied history and East Asian studies with foci in the Japanese language and North Korean history at Bennington College and Wittenberg University. My nursing school for my ASN was Aquinas College, and I went to Belmont University for my BSN. My MS is in thanatology from Marian University of Fond du Lac, and my capstone project was on the continuing bonds theory and use of wind telephones to continue thriving relationships with the dead.

I live in East Nashville, Tennessee with my husband, our two young sons, three dogs, and five cats as well as four chickens. We travel as much as possible, trying to go on an international trip at least once a year.
