Transport for NSW
{{TFNSW inline|_|_}}
{{TFNSW inline}} is an inline text display template using {{#if:}} and {{#switch:}}. It is an alternative to {{TFNSW lines}}, which displays wikilinks to Transport for NSW services in an graphic emulation of their 'hop' branding-style badges; this template simply displays the wikilinks as inline text, with an option to display a coloured box representing the service's designated colour code. All services for which Transport for New South Wales takes responsibility are represented, including all eight Sydney Ferries services, all privately-owned and operated ferry services listed by Transport for New South Wales, the Newcastle Transport-operated Stockton ferry service, all three Transdev-operated light rail services in Sydney, all eight Sydney Trains services, and all five NSW TrainLink intercity services. NSW TrainLink regional rail services have yet to be listed, and Bus and Coach services in New South Wales are not represented.
Usage
editInline wikilink
edit{{TFNSW inline}} can be used in any instance where making a wikilinks to a page about a Transport for New South Wales service would be made more convenient in an article body. This template is directly inspired by {{StnlnkA}} and {{Ferry}}. Parameters in the template are called by a service's badge number or its full name (excluding the badge number). For example, calling {{TFNSW inline}} to display an inline wikilink for the Inner West & Leppington Line service, you can either input the service's badge number, T2
, or the full name of the service, excluding the badge number, Inner West & Leppington Line
. These two parameters produce the following same result:
{{TFNSW inline|T2}}
or{{TFNSW inline|Inner West & Leppington Line}}
→ T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Coloured box
edit{{TFNSW inline}} with the second blank parameter active (2
) is to be used in instances where the graphic display of a Transport for New South Wales service cannot be satisfied with {{TFNSW lines}}, when an inline text display is most suitable. The 2
parameter activates the appearance of a small coloured box, which is coloured according to the main input to the parameter, meaning that a user only needs to input anything, such as b
, to activate the parameter and have its colour match the service called by the main 1
parameter. For example, inputting F8
to the main blank parameter with 2
set to b
will not only activate the appearance of the coloured box next to the left of F8 Cockatoo Island service's wikilink, but will automatically colour that box with the colour code of the F8 Cockatoo Island service:
{{TFNSW inline|F8}}
→ F8 Cockatoo Island{{TFNSW inline|F8|b}}
→ ■ F8 Cockatoo Island
Redirects
editThree redirects have been made for convenient usage of the template, {{NSWS}}, short for "New South Wales service", {{NSWTS}}, short for "New South Wales transport service", and {{TFNSWI}}, short for "Transport for New South Wales inline", which in turn is a further abbreviation of this template's original name. The redirected names for the template can be used in uppercase or lowercase. Here's how the three redirects look when used in lowercase, with the 2
parameter active:
{{nsws|T4|b}}
→ ■ T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line{{nswts|F5|b}}
→ ■ F5 Neutral Bay{{tfnswi|L2|b}}
→ ■ L2 Randwick Line
