Veloz and Yolanda edit

Veloz and Yolanda

  • ALT1:... that the LIFE magazine called Veloz and Yolanda (pictured) "The greatest dance couple in America"?
  • Reviewed: Not a self-nomination

Improved to Good Article status by Aymatth2 (talk), Dr. Blofeld (talk). Nominated by Oceanh (talk) at 17:54, 11 July 2014 (UTC).

  • Article assessed as good article on July 10. Article is long enough, employs in-line citations and is neutrally written. The first hook is supported by in-line citation to a reliable source here. The alt 1 hook is also supported by in-line citation to a reliable source here. Both hooks are short enough and interesting. Spot-checking of the text and sources doesn't reveal any problems with unduly close paraphrasing, copyright violation, or plagiarism. The image was uploaded very recently on July 9, 2014, and is tagged as public domain even though copyright notice appears on the 1941 image; claim of public domain is premised on ground that copyright was not renewed. Given sourcing of the image from ebay, I am not sure how complete the search may have been for a renewal notice. Out of an abundance of caution, I would suggest that the image NOT be featured on the Main Page. (If one of the resident DYK copyright experts is confident in the public domain assertion, I would defer to the expert.) No QPQ required as this is not a self-nom. In sum, this is good to go with the possible exception of the image. Cbl62 (talk) 20:01, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
