- I have adjusted the original hook per Gerda's suggestion. With respect, PFH, although thousands of horses are descended from the Byerley Turk, astonishingly few are in his direct sire line. No objection to Alt3. Doesn't Alt4 rather attenuate the interest of each article? I understand DYK regulars compete with each other over multiple hooks, but in that line six is now quite a modest number... Moonraker (talk) 23:32, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

- Never mind about my compound hook if Moonraker is not interested. I can make a new hook for Noble. But I thought that Byerley Turk's sire line refers to horses listed on Byerley Turk#Byerley Turk sire line, which is quite long a list. - I would like to emphasize that the list on Byerley Turk#Byerley Turk sire line is incomplete and already very, very long.
- And I think the only Derby winner to date that would work in a quirky hook as in ALT5 is Santa Claus (horse) (1964).
