Paris (horse), Ditto (horse), Archduke (horse), Sir Harry
edit- ... that the racehorse Sir Peter Teazle, who won in 1787, was the first winner of the Derby Stakes to sire another winning colt of the race: Sir Harry in 1798, Archduke in 1799, Ditto in 1803 and Paris in 1806?
- Comment:
A 5x DYK opportunity: Sir Peter also sired Traflagar (horse), who placed second in the 1806 Derby. May I pre-emptively nominate this yet-to-exist horse bio? :-) --PFHLai (talk) 15:49, 4 February 2012 (UTCNo one seems interested. So, never mind. --PFHLai (talk) 01:44, 19 February 2012 (UTC))

How about this sextuple DYK hook:ALT4: ... that after the stud Highflyer had sired three winners of the Derby Stakes in Noble (1786), Sir Peter Teazle (1787) and Skyscraper (1789), Sir Peter then sired four more Derby-winners in Sir Harry(1798), Archduke (1799), Ditto (1803) and Paris(1806)?
(Pls see also Template:Did you know nominations/Skyscraper (horse) below.) --PFHLai (talk) 22:14, 14 February 2012 (UTC)"Noble" got DYK'ed on his own yesterday, and the author of "Skyscraper" does not seem to be interested in compound hooks. So, never mind. --PFHLai (talk) 01:44, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
- All four articles were created and expanded to above 1500 characters within five days, are well sourced, show no problems requiring attention. However, the hook is over 200 characters. I suggest removing the years...

- or this...
- ALT: ... that Derby Stakes-winning racehorses Sir Harry, Archduke, Ditto and Paris were sired by Sir Peter Teazle, also a Derby Stakes winner?

- Thanks for the reviews and the suggested ALT hooks. I'm okay with both ALTs. I don't mind leaving out the years. I put them in the hook to show a time gap as I find it interesting that Sir Peter was already rather old when he began siring the second generation of Derby winners. I ignored the 200 char. limit as the limit is meant for single DYK hooks, not 4-in-1 hooks. --PFHLai (talk) 03:57, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
