Sam Sword edit

5x expanded by Cbl62 (talk). Self-nominated at 17:36, 15 April 2015 (UTC).

  • 5× expansion was nominated in a timely fashion, and article is long enough. Article is neutral, generally sufficiently cited, and no paraphrasing concerns. I can't figure out how to verify that he was the leading tackler in 1997 based on the inline source, which provides the player's raw stats but seem to be missing ranking relative to other teammates. Also, I'm concerned about the sourcing for the statement "His 265 solo tackle ranks third in Michigan history". The citation points to a stats site which says "Defensive does not start until 1965 season" and also says "Please check back on a regular basis since we are continually inputting missing data." It is not clear if data prior to 1965 does not exist anywhere, or it exists but this site does not provide them yet. I'd feel more comfortable if a reliable source stated this in prose. Otherwise, this particular stats sites limitation seem to require some original research on how to interpret its limitations (if any).—Bagumba (talk) 06:42, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
  • @Cbl62: Just to remind the nominator that they need to tackle the issues raised above. If they haven't been resolved by, say, 1 June, I would suggest closing the nomination. Prioryman (talk) 11:00, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Sorry for the delay. I will try to resolve this in the next couple days. Cbl62 (talk) 05:51, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Unfortunately, even verifying that he was the leading tackler was one of the issues I noted earlier: "I can't figure out how to verify that he was the leading tackler in 1997 based on the inline source, which provides the player's raw stats but seem to be missing ranking relative to other teammates."—Bagumba (talk) 06:57, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
@Cbl62: Neither hook is appropriately sourced. Fuebaey (talk) 13:14, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
The alt 1 hook is sourced to the Michign statistics archive which is in-line cited in the article and can be accessed here. If you go to "Games and Totals by Season" and enter 1997, and then enter Display Season Totals, you get the season leaders. The "Defense" leaders shows that Sword was the leader in tackles. * *@Bagumba: - In light of my clarification above re how to use the web site, can you take another look? Cbl62 (talk) 21:44, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
On the basis of the previous reviews and my own, this is good to go with ALT1. Belle (talk) 23:10, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
