- Note: Nominator is a WikiEd student editor for the Fall 2020 term at UCLA. (course link) The course ends on December 15, 2020. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:57, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- In my reading this is a great beginning on an important topic. I don’t feel it yet satisfies the supplementary DYK policy, rule D7:
“an article [...] that is to appear on the front page should appear to be complete and not [a] work in progress.”
Fair or not, satisfying that requirement is especially important for an entry falling under existing DS sanctions: a good but incomplete start can create a lot of friction when it’s in the spotlight. Is student peer review still ongoing so a more complete draft might still be forthcoming? Or more input from the instructor? Pinging Ian (Wiki Ed) who is the course contact and with whom I’ve been in touch about student contributions this semester. Ian, any thoughts here? Thanks. - The nominator hasn't edited since December 5th, on which they nominated the article for Good Article status, and the course has ended. However, I am requesting that the nomination not be closed until action can be taken on the GAN, or until December 22 (one week after the course's end), whichever comes first. - That works for me. Innisfree987 (talk) 15:40, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- FYI - I've added a 'globalize' template to the article because I felt it's too focused on the US. This might raise an NPOV concern. Edge3 (talk) 13:34, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- Edge3, you also failed the GA nomination, so that's no longer in play. What's needed here is a review with icon and all, after which we proceed as per normal. Given the two templates at the top and the sheer number of "citation needed" notations, unless more work is done, I don't see how this can pass. I do agree it's a good beginning. - Ok I was hoping we could work with the student editor and WikiEd to progress the entry but as the course has ended and GAN has failed without advancing toward resolving the issues to make this an acceptable entry to feature on Main Page, I’m ticking no as it does not meet D7. I will leave the necessary update with the nominator. Innisfree987 (talk) 04:45, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
