  • Hi, I came by to promote ALT1, but I don't understand why you're interpreting the quote that way. (In fact, you're interpreting it, which is OR.) The quote says:
  • "She was qualified on everything the Army flew, as well as some Navy planes," Kim said. He noted her favorites were the P-51 and P-38 fighters. "She felt bombers were like driving buses.”
  • To me, that means flying bombers was as easy as driving a bus. Yoninah (talk) 23:06, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
Hmmm. I don't really think it's OR. It's common parlance in the aviation community to talk about flying a big plane which is not a challenge to fly as "driving a bus", or "being a bus driver". But, no, I can't find a good reference for that. There's another quote in the News Tribune reference: She also didn’t care much for the bomber planes. Debbie Jennings, friends with Olsen since about 2003 and developer of a WASP exhibit at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, said her friend preferred the fighter plane because she was by herself and could do whatever she wanted. That makes it clear that she didn't like bombers, but doesn't tie in the bus remark. We could use that reference instead, but honestly, I like the primary hook better. It may not be as catchy, but it does highlight one of her achievements that set her apart from most of the other WASPs. -- RoySmith (talk) 23:29, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
  • Agreed. Restoring tick for ALT0 per Hawkeye7's review. Yoninah (talk) 08:43, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
