General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: None required.

Overall: Interesting hook, neutral, expanded fivefold within last 7 days, since Nov 6. The sources used are in the article. No QPQ needed as this is nominators first DYK (if I'm correct). Per WP:DYKIMG, the image shown here is not used in the article, so the image should be removed unless another solution arises. Thanks. Harobouri TC (he/him) 01:43, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

Didn't know about WP:DYKIMG, the image shown here is now used in the article. X00y (talk) 14:43, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
@X00y: The photo is in the article, but I don't know if the image has relevency in the article to sufface it being within the article. I'll ask for a second opinion, maybe active contributors to DYK like @Theleekycauldron: or @Lee Vilenski: could help me out? Harbouri: Let's talk! I haven't checked out the article, but if the hook is right, I don't see an issue with this image of it's suitably captioned. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 19:36, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
Well, the image is in the article now – as a matter of policy, i don't think there'd be basis to remove image. As a matter of personal taste, I'd say that I'm not a huge fan of running lead hooks that divert our readers from the bolded article – I'd wager that this image would direct a lot more attention to Golding. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 19:43, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
: On the basis of the second opinions, the photo seems that it is within policy and I will be approving. Thanks! Harobouri TC (he/him) 20:43, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
@X00y: "blaming himself" isn't quite the same as "wondering if he had caused Golding to die by not leaving earlier, with the other guests". Could the disparity be corrected? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 06:10, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
Included now. X00y (talk) 00:05, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
  • I'd recommend not using the photo on this one. The main subject is Thomas, and that's not a photo of him, so that's kind of confusing. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:31, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
