- The article was nominated the day it was created. The article is very well-sourced and the sources check out, as far as I could tell (and there is no reason not to assume good faith when it comes to inaccessible sources). It is long enough, but the alternative hook is a bit too long (at 207 characters). I don't see inline citations next to hook facts as required by DYK rules, so I am afraid I cannot approve the original hook either. I suppose Hordern covers it but I cannot access the book and fix the "issue" myself. Checking the sources I can access, I have not noticed any instances of close paraphrasing. It seems the only issue there is to fix is the missing inline citation. Surtsicna (talk) 11:26, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Surtsicna: It's more or less a summary of the article. It would be awkward to have the sentence with the list of name in the body of the article though. Wiltgen 2010, p. 90 has all the essence of the first hook. --KAVEBEAR (talk) 11:31, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- I understand. I have been warned about the lack of inline citations in such situations many times, though. I would personally have no trouble approving the hook, but could you try to address the issue (by copying inline citations perhaps) in order to avoid possible complaints? Would it be possible have the hook (or a shorter version of it) in the opening paragraph along with the citation? Surtsicna (talk) 11:43, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- The second sentence ("He helped start the Roman Catholic mission in the Eastern Oceania and was the Prefect Apostolic of Southern Oceania") in the intro has been sourced. Would that suffice? We can also simply only list Liausu in the hook which would solve everything but I wanted to provide some coverage for the other three as well.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 11:52, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
