About PS2 subtitle, "Brighter than dawning blue"

edit
  • "Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na" means, "(something, subject is oftenly omitted in Japanese, is) deeper (or more brilliant) color of lapis lazuli (=Ruri Iro) than ("more ... than" phrase, =Yori) the color of the sky of predawn (=Yoake Mae)." The subtitile of the PS2 game, "Brighter than dawning blue," seems to lack the nuiance of deepness of color, nuiance of "lapis lazuli", and also "dawning" seems to mean, "begining of dawn," which seems different to "predawn (=before dawn?)." "Deeper (or More brilliant) color of azure than the predawn sky," seems more better as a english translation. Any better notation?

  • As a explanation of japanese title, "deeper color of lapis lazuli (or azure) than the color of predawn sky" may be enough. If you try to fit words to the subtitle of PS2, "Deeper azure color than that of predawn sky," may be acceptable.

  • "August," who released original PC game, seems not stating that "Brihgter than Dawning Blue" as official english translation. (Currently, they seems not selling this game outside of Japan.) "Brighter than Dawning Blue" just appear as a subtitle of PS2 game, which will released by "Aria."
Similar discussion appears in "Note" (equiv. to "discussion") of the japanese one.
Better check if "Brighter ..." is an official translation.

PC game/PS2 game/TV-anime/Novel

edit
  • Article is modified as a point of view as follows:
Title seems to be slightly different in subtitle between PC game, PS2 game and TV-anmie. PC game has no subtitle (thus title is, "Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na."), on the other hand, PS2 game has "-Brighter than dawning blue-", and TV-anime has "-Crescent Love-." On the viewpoint of story, picture and character design, story (including episodes), picture and character design of TV-anime is quite different to those of PC game. Taking account of story, story of Novels, 7 of which are published from Harvest-shuppan, is keeping the taste of the story of original PC game.

  • An image "Yoake Cresent Love logo" is just used only in TV animation, never in PC game. May confuse user of Wiki that this image is used in PC game. Better move this image to appropriate section related to the TV animation or add new image that is used in PC game, if license issue may clarified.

About screenshot (incl. logo(?)) of TV anime in "Yoake Mae ..."

edit
As you know, the TV anime is under basshing (i.e. Matsuri@2ch_web_site) by the game user and those who watch this anime because of quite *keen* TV anime original(?) additional backgrounds introduced in story, strange movie/picture which does not fit the story (DoDonMai?), quite low quality in movie/picture (Cabbage sceen in 3rd episode seems to become *ledgend* in bad meaning, as like Yasigani in Lost Universe). If you can read and understand japanese, better see the japanese wiki page of [Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na (In Japanese)]
If you keep the caputre of TV anime as a representative of this title, the authors of this wiki might be considered that they do not know well about this title.
It is better to keep in mind that those who played the PC game will see this Wiki page. (this page is link backed from the original japanese wiki page)
And another issue is that broadcasting company TBS/BS-i who has the copyright of this TV anime seems not allowing to use captured movie or screenshot of TV anime outside one's personal PC, also not allowing on the public internet, without *their * permission. [Copyright and Link policy of TBS (In Japanese)] (They seems to check "you tube," and as a result, some video may be removed and some users may suspended.) As you know, at the begening of the episode of this TV anime, a "telop" is shown which means TBS/BS-i does not allow to *flow* picture/movie of this TV anime on the internet (in japan/ overseas). Same thing may be said to the screenshot of each episode. (Those who keep screenshot in their Web site takes their risk. Big Web site, which big company hold the contents, asks TBS/BS-i for permission.) When you take in account of the nature of Wikipedia, it is quite riskful to keep such image on the Wikipedia pages. You may see that japanese Wiki of this title does not contain any pictures. (even if the japanese authors can access or able to get screenshots of the TV anime.)
Those who think worthful to keep screenshots of TV anime are recommended to ask TBS/BS-i for permission to clear copyright issues, and ask Wikipedia's webmaster also for permission. (See Copyright in Wikipedia)

Added Miscellanea

edit
  • Seems better sharing misc. background (especially in Japan?) of this game, which are summerized (mainly in "Yodan" (misc?) section) in Japanese Wiki, also to those who sees and edit this Wiki. I did not added the TV anime related criticizing issue (Cabbage, Yasigani and so on) because of currently ongoing issue.

I removed this section. It was unencyclopedia knowledge and very poorly written (it was very confusing to read). I couldn't find enough of it to keep that was usefull to keep the section at all.--(十八|talk) 04:26, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
What means *your* "encyclopedia knowledge"? Why the part you removed seems "unencyclopedia knowledge"? Need more explanation. If I suddenly remove Plot section, without good explanation of reason, for example, due to wrong contents (not telling a true story, seems to meet to unencyclopedia content), is that a right thing to do? --Azulite 04:42, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'll tell you right now: My main gripe is that it was poorly written and confusing to read. Not much of it really made sense due to this fact.--(十八|talk) 05:34, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well....
1st block is written about the nicknamed of this game in Japan and its background. Japanese game owner tends to add an nickname to their games, and like this game, several different nicknames are applied to one game. In some cases, Religious-war like situation may occur amoung folks around these nicknames.
2nd one is written about "Brighter..." and official "english translation," which may relate to what I wrote here before (PS2 subtitle). Japanese tends to see english notation as translation of original Japanese one, even if it is not stated as. And also tends to try to fixup the english notation to fill the nuiance of the Japanese title.
To my impression, these two thing are necessary to understand Japanese subculture around PC BISHOJO adult games. That's why I tried to import this section from Japanese Wiki.
To my feeling, this part is not so confusing as you felt. I may be getting near to Japanese guys, or some background information about this game helps me for understating. (I've completed the original PC game, thanks to my friend.)
Sharing where is the point(s), in detail, of your confusion may be constructive. Looking forward to your help and contribution. Thanks.--Azulite 07:18, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Alright then, let me start by saying it was not written in proper or conventional English, thus it was difficult to read and also understand what was being said. I had enough trouble reading it the first time.
Re point 1: Is this relavevnt information on the English wikipedia how the game has been nicknamed in Japan? The game is exclusive in Japan thus this information does not seem prevalent for English speakers.
Re point 2: This section ends up becoming much more muddled than it should be. I do see you trying to explain this about the the Japanese to English "translation" but it ends up becoming confusing, especially if you introduce foreign concepts like Lapiz Lazuli even if this ends up being accurate to some end.
Also, you say that these points are valid in order to "understand Japanese subculture around PC Bishoujo adult games, but why does this have any relavence in this article? Sure, you may be addressing these points to the respect of Yoake, but if you really want to inform us about this Japanese subculture, it would be better to include a more generalized explanation into a different article that is more centered around Japanese subculture with PC Bishoujo adults games.--(十八|talk) 07:33, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Changing the title

edit

I think the title should be changed because not everyone knows the japanese name so it should add Crescent Love at the end —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Prettystarz6 (talkcontribs) 14:09, 29 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

Danbooru's dead

edit

Just wanted to let you fellows know so you can (if you want) remove the link to it on the article. It went down and the owner said that it's not a joke... though it's possible someone may make a new one, as the owner stated he'll release a source code, so you may want to keep your eyes peeled. If things turn out alright, it's possible you can replace the link. I hope that's all on the okay with you. --Ralf Loire 06:10, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Looks like the link can be put up again if you can find it around here... Danbooru returned as Sagubooru now. Here's the link. http://www.sagubooru.com/ --Ralf Loire 22:43, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
