First game with romance options?

edit

Since romance options in games are a thing now, I was thinking that this might be the first major title with romance options as we know them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.150.146.74 (talk) 20:48, 5 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

reference to Star Wars episode 3

edit

I dont understand the reference to episode 3, if its supposedly the first all blue screen film then thats wrong as Sky Captain took this accolade released a year earlier. 83.104.138.141 (talk) 21:58, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

...Why should there be any mention of her? She's so trivial that you guys can't even remember her name.--Martin IIIa (talk) 14:00, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ginger Lynn

edit

Calling her role in this game "her first 'respectable' role" is an incredibly POV statement. I'm changing it to "non-adult role". Spartan198 (talk) 18:46, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cast and version differences

edit

I've reverted Eik Corell's recent removal of the "Cast" and "Version differences" sections. His edit summary cites WP:GAMECRUFT, but I don't think this guideline applies to either section. For better or for worse, the fact that Wing Commander III stars Mark Hamill, Malcolm McDowell, and John Rhys-Davies is invariably the first thing mentioned in any review or article on the game. Going by the sources, the cast is the single most notable thing about Wing Commander III. Even the new, peculiarly stringent "cast lists" section of the very guideline Eik Corell cited states that cast sections are allowed in this instance: "Exceptions to the rule would be games where the video game cast is particularly notable, such as actors reprising their roles in a video game translation of a film."

As for the "Version differences" section, while I'm not aware of any guideline which explicitly supports content like this, it's found in every comprehensive article on a video game that I've seen, and it frankly seems common sense that if the content of the original version of the game is notable, the content of later versions is notable as well. Initially my thought was I might have got carried away while writing this section back in 2013, and that I should delete some of the more trivial points. Reviewing the section, though, I found only 4 of the 13 points could be called trivial by any stretch of the imagination, and even those 4 are borderline enough that I don't feel comfortable with removing them myself. At any rate, content concerning version differences should be reviewed on a point-by-point basis, not removed wholesale as "gamecruft" (unless you can get a wider consensus to do that across all video game articles, but I can't see that happening).--Martin IIIa (talk) 02:33, 4 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
