Will review in a few days. Hog Farm Talk 20:16, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Busier than expected, it'll probably be Thursday or Friday before I can get to this. Hog Farm Talk 03:52, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
No worries. I am aware that the article is a long one. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 04:31, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • You'll be better off linking to United States Representative for Lynch's title than the more generic Congressman
     Y Changed as suggested. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • "He was given his first command, the gunboat Mariveles, a refitted vessel that had been captured from the Spanish" - what does the source say? DANFS claims that Mariveles was "purchased by the War Department in 1898" although it could well have been previously captured/surrendered in the Spanish-American War or the Philippine Revolution
Y The source says: "captured from the Spanish and then refitted". What you said is most likely what happened. There is a picture of it here. Tweaked the wording as it is not terribly important. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • "was not sent to Europe due to teething problems" - can it be clarified what exactly "teething problems" are? At least in the US, "teething problems" generally refers to infants growing teeth
Y Well, yes, but at the Hood it far more often referred to the idiomatic definition of teething troubles: "Problems that are to be expected with any new and untried product, system, or venture project." Added Wiktionary link. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • "In this role, Leahy had safeguard American interests in Turkey" - missing a word but it could be one of several so I'll let you figure that out
     Y Re-worded. I think "reveled" has only one L is American English. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • "As bureau chief, Leahy formed a good working relationship with the new Assistant Secretary of the Navy was Henry L. Roosevelt," - something is off with this
     Y Re-worded. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • "return to moderate Collaboration with the Axis Powers" - I'm not sure that collaboration should be capitalized here
     Y De-capped. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Can we get a brief gloss of what Operation Anakim was to have been, since there's just the redlink
     Y Added. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Ref 189 needs some citation formatting cleanup
     Y Added access date. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • The Forbes ref is not reliable per WP:FORBESCON
     Y Deleted. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • "Leahy was ineligible for the American Defense Service Medal, as he retired from the Navy in August 1939 and was recalled to active duty in May 1942. The medal was for active service from 8 September 1939 to 7 December 1941." - citation needed, and possibly not all that relevant?
     Y Deleted this too. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • The MO S&T ref is showing as a deadlink for me
     Y Repaired the link. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 01:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

I think that's all from me. Hog Farm Talk 23:46, 9 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • "was is Leahy Hall, the U.S. Naval Academy admissions office." - this is now both unsourced and ungrammatical; get this taken care of an the article will be good to go for GA purposes. Hog Farm Talk 03:02, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
