Three sides or four?

In the very first paragraph of the article, someone keeps changing the correct relationship between Surrey and White Rock in terms of their mutual border. Is White Rock bounded by Surrey on three sides or four?

The proper answer is FOUR!!! Someone keeps changing the reference back to three, erroneously claiming that White rock's border with Surrey is only on the west, north and east. There is also a southern border, south of 8th Avenue between 160th Street and Semiahmoo Bay. This is the Semiahmoo First Nations' property, which is also within the city limits of Surrey, not White Rock.

Please keep the reference correct! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.70.247.127 (talk) 18:51, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Stigma

I don't know who put this in but i got rid of it ", this has earned the town's residents a stigma that everyone is a senior citizen". I have lived in White rock/South Surrey for 20 years, there's no stigma. -Adenosine- 09:09, Mar 7, 2005 (UTC)

I've lived here for 9. And we joke about it, that everybody's old. Maybe you just don't realize it as much, most likely being old yourself. 70.70.212.72 03:16, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
Maybe it's a semantical thing, I also joke about it, but I thought stigma was a little harsh of a term (I'm not old by ANY means) Adenosine | Talk 07:22, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
The place is a giant retirement village. The "stigma" is completely accurate: the town is dominated by and caters to retirees. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.6.145.171 (talk) 19:51, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

The White Rock

I don't think that White Rock is named for the physical representation (the literal white rock)... I do remeber there being a story based around it... something the people at the museum tell the tourists. Maybe someone could add that?

The Map and Info Box

I do think that conformity between articles is important for wikipedia, and especially for the article about the GVRD. Thewalrus, I do agree that the old map is by far not the prettiest thing around but we can't just change white rock and let it be. I think Qyd has made a great map, actually he has made great maps for every city in the GVRD. I say we change all the maps across the entire district. I am not active at any other city's wiki page, but we're gonna have to change them all, or none. And that info box looks nice, but we can't leave it full of unfilled default values. Antics

who's in favour of writing a blurb about how one white rock councillor stabbed another white rock councillor with a pen back in 2002 or there abouts, I sure am cause it's hilarious, we could putit under trivia. TotallyTempo 05:58, 8 February 2007 (UTC) evidentley noone...someone POV'd this article up quite a bit but I'm too lazy/ don't know much about white rock so I'm not going to change it.

was just wondering...

Are there any campgrounds in White Rock close to the water?.

I do not know for sure but I severly doubt it because white rock is very small.

Actually, my maps show some, just south of White Rock, north of the border and Peace Arch Provincial Park, west of British Columbia provincial highway 99, on Middle Beach Rd (on Boundary Bay). --Qyd 05:11, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

And actually there's a big campground, one Qyd just mentioned I guess, right near the border; used to be Royal Canadian Legion summer camp, and there were a few more around there; also big ones, including a big summer kids' camp, at Ocean Park, and more at Crescent Beach; we stayed at the Legion one a couple of times; I got big salt blisters under my skin from wandering around the salt flats at low tide, and collected a whole bunch of those point-spiral univalves that are abundant down there, wound up having them go to stink the garage (like the starfish Dad picked up somewhere once...).Skookum1 (talk) 22:23, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh yeah, there is a "Grove" - Beach Grove, over by Boundary Bay (Delta); probably that will have to disambig to Beach Grove (Surrey)...by the look of the Boundary Bay article those neighbourhood articles don't exist; if they bluelink here I'll link them over on the location article.Skookum1 (talk) 04:59, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
