This page needs major attention edit

Other than all kinds of things that should be linked aren't, and promotional boldings all over the place, this thing reads like a mix of municipal p.r.-dept brochure and community critics of the Bosa Development. The FN legend could possibly be split off; that translation of Semiahmoo meaing "half-moon" sounds pastiche and bogus to me, but maybe it's real; there is nonetheless a Category:First Nations mythology er, Category:Native American mythology maybe, can't remember) where a separate article could exist (once researched/cited). But it'smore than that - there's editorializing all over the place. I don't have time, and don't know White Rock well enough; I came here looking for any information the article might have had (it doesn't) about the waterspout that blazed into the heart of White Rock several years ago; I'd been looking at derecho and it occurred to me that the White Rock Waterspout was a Category:Natural disasters in British Columbia natural, as also the tornado that hit Abbotsford/Sumas within the last few years (minor though it was). I think the Compass/nearby communities box at the bottom could maybe specify Crescent Beach/Ocean Park as the part of Surrey to the NW, Cloverdale to the NE etc.Skookum1 (talk) 22:23, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Election ridings edit

Should provincial and federal constituencies be added to article? 2017 BC Election will have modified riding Surrey - White Rock. Canuckle (talk) 20:44, 14 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Andy Anderson edit

The IP inserting this person's name into the article clearly does not understand Wikipedia:Notability (sports). At most, this skateboarder only marginally meets the basic requirements listed there.--Jasper Deng (talk) 23:30, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

I also oppose the addition of Andy Anderson on the notable people list. WP:CCSG does not offer guidance, but typically "notable people" lists on city articles are for individuals who have a Wikipedia article, or are presumed notable (a Member of Parliament or professional athlete), so long as a source supports they lived in the place. Andy Anderson is not presumed notable, has no Wikipedia article to support notability, and has not yet competed in an Olympics. I am certain, however, that the IP is not Andy Anderson, as I have been fortunate to know various members of Olympic teams through the years and they have a lot of class.
