Upper Gangetic Plains moist deciduous forestsUpper Gangetic Plains

  • This has to be the most awkward article name I can ever imagine, at least excluding profanity! Rename to 'Upper Gangetic Plains', which of course might then be classified as a moist deciduous forest, if that be appropriate. Bear in mind, this is not just an eco article in an encyclopedia, but also a geographic place with a history... I only encountered this because the Sepoy Rebellion was centered in this region... presumably because of the forest and the nature of guerrilla war... funny how geography and history--and their eco systems all interpenetrate! ): // FrankB 19:37, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • oppose - this really does appear to be the term used, see that worldwildlife.org link. It seems that "Upper Gangetic Plains" would be a different (and larger) entity. The capitalization is broken, though, I think, maybe move to Upper Gangetic Plains Moist Deciduous Forests? ErikHaugen (talk) 18:14, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • oppose this is the name of the ecoregion, per the WWF-National Geographic system. 'Upper Gangetic Plains' might be a physiographic region that means something different, if it can be precisely defined at all. The capitalization is per WWF/NG usage, but all caps are not inappropriate, and at the very least ought to be a redirect to here.Tom Radulovich (talk) 17:52, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
