Article assessments help project members prioritise improvements to articles related to ecoregions. Project members should assess articles according to the importance and quality scales given below, and then record the results using the {{WikiProject Ecoregions}} project template on the article talk page. E.g.

{{WikiProject Ecoregions|class=C|importance=mid}}

After assessing an article, you may want to place it on your watchlist for a while, and reassess the article if you see major improvements. New articles often take a few days or weeks before they stabilize, and may improve considerably during this period.

Importance edit

The importance scale is used by project members in prioritizing improvement efforts. It reflects the importance of the article to Wikiproject:Ecoregions, not its importance in the general scheme of things. An article may be Low importance for this project but High importance for some other project, or vice-versa.

Importance Description Example
Top This is used only for the "parent" article for this project: Ecoregion. Ecoregion
High Discusses a general aspect of ecoregions, or describes a grouping of ecoregions by region or by type. The scope is broader than an individual ecoregion. Lists of ecoregions belong in this class. Biome
Mid Ecoregion. Describes a global, marine or terrestrial ecoregion defined by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), a North American ecoregion defined by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC), or a US ecoregion defined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Catatumbo moist forests
Low Describes a feature of a given ecoregion, such as a wetland or conservation unit, or covers a topic that is useful in understanding ecoregions but that is not primarily about ecoregions (although it should mention ecoregions.) Global warming
