  • I oppose a merge, as this is a useful article on a technique that chemists use and find surprising so need separate information on it. Please make sure that the chemists have a say on it. Whatever happens, the same should be done with Restricted Open-shell Hartree-Fock, again something that probably interests chemists more than physicists. --Bduke (talk) 07:17, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • I am going to add Gaston Berthier's name to be associated with the UHF method. It's rather poor form when the discoverer of the set of these equations isn't even acknowledged. It's widely known that Berthier presented his equations at one of Lowdin's meetings, where John Pople was present, and where he expressed rather negative opinions about the work. Only a few months later, Pople had published his article on the UHF method with Nesbet! --dylan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dylan.jayatilaka (talkcontribs) 14:41, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
