This article and La Fayette (R96) are about the same ship. I have seen other articles where the history under all names is combined in one article (see SS France (1961)). --rogerd (talk) 18:43, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose - there is enough contnet on both ships to support two article, and room for expansion. The ship served in wars and other actions with both navies, so there should be more material on their actions available. Usually, histories of the same ship which served in different navies are combined only if the role on the other navies was relatively minor or short. - BillCJ (talk) 19:22, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per BillCJ, plus civil ships are a handled a bit different than military, which I can admit is something that needs to be dealt with. Keep the status quo for now until a definitive policy is set at WT:SHIPS. -MBK004 22:44, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fun Fact edit

My Great-Grandfather was a chef on this ship. At my Great-Grandmothers house, there is a hat in the attic that says: USS LANGLEY CV-27 How cool is that?! Talyllyn1 (talk) 12:47, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
