Turkey pull out / Italian-Turkish bid 2032. edit

Can someone edit this as Turkey has now pulled out of the 2028 Euros? I don't have enough knowledge / library of sources nor the time. Rolling Fields. (talk) 10:41, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

There's no evidence Turkey has actually pulled out of the bidding for 2028. – PeeJay 12:04, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I Understand. Rolling Fields. (talk) 13:47, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I think the key is to realise that Turkey and Italy have, at this point, only applied to merge their Euro 2032 bids. If that is accepted, Turkey will likely pull out of the Euro 2028 bidding. – PeeJay 14:01, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, we'll see how the situation develops. Rolling Fields. (talk) 09:52, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not yet selected edit

Although the British-Irish bid is now unopposed, it will not be formally selected until next week. Same with the 2030 FIFA World Cup, where the sole remaining bid won't be selected until next year. --Theurgist (talk) 20:54, 4 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

FIFA has already announced Spain/Portugal/Morocco as the hosts for the 2030 World Cup, but you’re right that UEFA has not confirmed the UK/Ireland bid for Euro 2028. – PeeJay 20:56, 4 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hosts and Qualification edit

Since England is the largest, majority of the games will be held there, and they hold most presence and appeal and on the World stage and highest in FIFA rankings and the Premier League they will be the main host and A1 The other 4 be in Pot 1 as co-hosts and give them the maximum chance of qualifying. Just because 5 teams are hosting, I don't see any sources that say all 5 will automatically qualify. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:51, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
My apologies, I think UEFA would do it in a way, so the chances of them qualifying is guantereed, so they avoid teams such as Portugal, Netherlands, France, Croatia etc or they face one and the others low in fifa rankings, I can't see Ireland getting a familiar group as they have now. Japhes23 (talk) 11:05, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
In particular, the source being listed doesn't support the fact that these 5 teams have qualified. The source is a 2021 invitation for teams to bid, it is not a recent source saying these 5 teams qualify as host, which is what is needed to verify this statement. Assuming that all 5 teams will automatically qualify is WP:OR. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:01, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also note this UEFA publication from 2021 regarding the bid process: In order to ensure compatibility with the competition’s sporting and commercial format, the automatic qualification of the host team(s) shall be guaranteed only for a single host or a maximum of two joint host associations, as always implemented in the past. It seems one idea being considered is that all five hosts will enter qualifying, with automatic spots being given for up to 2 hosts which fail to qualify. S.A. Location of Stadiums edit

Can someone add the 10 stadiums that have been confirmed to be in use for the UEFA Euros since it has been confirmed that the UK and Ireland will host.

Compared to Turkey and Italy's bid which has 20 stadiums lined up for consideration in which 10 will be seleected, we already know the Stadiums that will be used Wycombefan (talk) 12:15, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
