Spam edit

I have removed a full section with inappropriate content about how to create your own cards, boards, etc. Remember, this is an encyclopedia, not a collection of links. I have left a warning in the external sections, someone will surely comne later and purge the section if nobody does before. -- ReyBrujo 01:54, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Toptrumps prehistoric monsters.jpg edit

Image:Toptrumps prehistoric monsters.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

computer game edit

The Doctor Who game is not part of the Adventures range, it's just called Doctor Who: Top Trumps (the same name as the card game version). Also the Top Trumps Adventures article only mentions one game, for the Wii, not several with different themes. Digifiend (talk) 12:26, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Top Trumps Mobile-Doctor Who edit

Found out about a Doctor Who version, thought it was worth mentioning. Does anyone else think so? Links here: http://www.eidos.co.uk/mobile/tt_drwho/index.html http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/reviews/item/Top_Trumps_Doctor_Who.php Also, someone else will have to do the References because I don't know how to. Modern Relaunch and Overseas sections edit

The former looks terrible and the latter is a complete list. These sections should be detailed writing into how Winning Moves have worked, and the countries they develop cards for. It is unneccesary what these were, as an interested person would look at the external links and go to either a reference site or the official site. ILHI (talk) 21:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

What! edit

I made an edit and it got reverted. There was nothing wrong with it. Why did this happen? 89.242.120.75 (talk) 17:13, 26 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Link to Top Trumps on the iPhone edit

Dear McGeddon!

Why is the link I've been posting about someone who made a conversion of Top Trumps for the iPhone "commercial" and therefore have been deleted by you, while the link to toptrumpsmobile.com/ where they (obviously) sell Top Trumps applications for mobile devices is apparently not? (Also Planet Top Trumps is commercial, of course it is!)

Could you please explain the difference or is this just arbitrariness? The one offers Top Trumps on iPhone, the other on mobile phones. Also: With this argumentation every link to a company is "commercial" in that way, they all sell something. When I'm interested in a BMW I'd like to follow the link to the BMW site. When I'm interested in gambling Top Trumps and I'm coeval a lover of the iPhone I might be interested, that there's a company who sells something like that. Hmm? --Kunstguerilla (talk) 12:30, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

If it's an unofficial port of the game that's being sold for money, then it goes against Wikipedia policy. From WP:LINKSTOAVOID: "Except for a link to an official page of the article's subject [...] one should avoid [...] links to web pages that primarily exist to sell products or services."
Linking to toptrumpsmobile.com is okay, because it's an official site of Winning Moves company, and it's a significant part of the Top Trumps brand. The link you've added appears to be one person's unofficial iPhone app. --McGeddon (talk) 13:01, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Citations needed edit

For an article this large, I believe that more citations should be used. 125.239.243.14 (talk) 20:29, 21 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can u edit

Make a list of all or some/most top trumps? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.98.167.114 (talk) 11:37, 24 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

date edit

How old is this game? '68 or '77. Both years are given, neither is cited.Zeimusu | Talk page 20:48, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I played Top Trumps in 1976 but I don't know of any source to confirm that TT was originally created before that. The reference cited as evidence for 1978 as an incept date has no mention (no longer mentions) TT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.23.239.198 (talk) 20:50, 13 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

What were the original eleven topics edit

Article lists many of the modern re-release topics so why not list the original eleven topics ? - Rod57 (talk) 09:57, 2 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
