They link to the source that the contributors got their information from, which is the point of a reference. Marasmusine (talk) 07:01, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Widelands edit

Someone deleted the part about Widelands. I reverted this change, as we discussed about the wikipage "Widelands" and decided to merge it into this page some time ago. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.134.185.130 (talk) 21:32, 12 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Widelands article was recreated, as the notability issues were solved. And so there is no need to recreate the content in this article. Nasenbaer peter (talk) 19:21, 13 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Download edit

Does anyone know a site we're i can download this?

- Wikipedia certainly isn't a good place to ask about illegal game downloading --Fuzzybyte 23:36, 23 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Define good. I'd say if you're casting a question to as wide an audience as possible then where better? Anyway, just look on any torrent site. www.torrentz.com for example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.197.99 (talk) 23:43, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
i read it was abandonware now, so that means its not really illegal (so far), as is settlers 1. only i can't actually find settlers 2 this way, although i've only searched one site so far. i do have it on cd, but can't get it to work on my laptop. might have to try it again, awesome game. 77.101.18.129 (talk) 16:57, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:SETUP998.JPG edit

Image:SETUP998.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Multiplayer edit

There is nothing written about the kind of multiplayer in this game. From what I can tell, it's just 'split screen' 211.31.248.89 (talk) 12:10, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gold version vs original version edit

Does anyone know what the differences are between the original and Gold versions of Settlers 2 is? --78.105.235.89 (talk) 16:28, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

taken from Abandonia website - The graphics are better than in the original Settlers II, and there are some new features added as well. The sounds are great, as in the other two :) Some gameplay aspects have been improved, and computer will no longer get stuck once you build up a big empire. 77.101.18.129 (talk) 17:00, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
The Gold version also contains the add-on Mission CD, that includes a new campaign.

Game guide content edit

Large parts of this article fail WP:GAMEGUIDE, as they are technical pieces of reference material to playing the game which do not impart important real-world information pertaining to the topic. i'm planning on removing most of this in the near future.
