Importance

edit

This game was the first Japanese RPG, self-published by an American and shoved down magazine-editor's throats. Before this game, even pen-and-paper RPGs weren't well-known. It then became wildly-popular, and ripped off by Enix, Square, etc. This is easily a High importance, if not a Top. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 22:04, 3 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Agree. Idle Thumbs 32 says that Rogers was influenced primarily by Wizardry. Axem Titanium (talk) 17:12, 1 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Here's the relevant interview: [1]. Axem Titanium (talk) 17:55, 1 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
In that interview Rogers claims to have programmed it himself, which seems untrue?
Also plenty of Japanese RPGs already existed as detailed on this page. 111.106.166.232 (talk) 21:05, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
