Talk:Stratford Shakespeare Festival production history

List? edit

Since this article is mainly just a list of productions, wuldn't it make more sense to have it at List of productions at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival? Possibly also look at a few featured lists for ideas on ways to improve its formatting?--Xover (talk) 06:01, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Justification edit

This page is much more substantial than just a frivolous list: - many seasons are constructed with themes, usually topical and related to world events at the time. For example, the 1987 season had a strong anti-war theme with plays like Not About Heroes, Mother Courage, and Cabaret. - links are made to different plays - some frequently performed, some not and playwrights - some notorious, some not. Links between plays, playwrights and this theatre are made.

It would be helpful if commentary could be added on the seasons' themes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Swaff123 (talkcontribs) 04:09, 9 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Then you should have no problem providing sources to back up these assertions. Abductive (reasoning) 04:25, 9 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • The Fifty seasons at Stratford source is published by the Stratford Festival of Canada, and is not an independent source. Abductive (reasoning) 21:54, 14 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Henry VI edit

Did they do all three parts in 1966 and 1980? TimBentley (talk) 01:41, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

"[m]any of the greatest American and Canadian actors..." edit

Can't actually think of great American actors there apart from a couple who became Canadian. Have seen or know of great UK as well as Canadian actors there though, right back to the early 1950s beginning. Seems a pity for the article not to mention a few of the famous actor names regardless of national origin. Masalai (talk) 04:34, 20 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
