Parody?

I would challenge the description of the song as a parody - it is not a topical rewrite of an existing song, which I would argue is the accepted definition of a song parody.85.210.10.45 (talk) 16:29, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Originality?

In UK Science Fiction Fandom, It's sometimes been said (ObPersonal) that this was an adaptation of an existing Filk song which the named copyrighters appropriated from the zeitgeist. • The verse lyrics were originally sung ad hoc by members of the Sealed Knot at their gatherings. John O'Connor learned of them, and he and Grahame Lister built the completed song around them. That led to a search for the Sealed Knot member who originated the verse lyrics, who was eventually found to be Rory Kehoe and so his name was added to the credits.Jess Cully (talk) 08:37, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
