Launch Vehicle

Does anyone know what the P78-1 was launched in?--Cdogsimmons (talk) 04:25, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orbital altitude

Does anyone know how high up it was? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.243.4.11 (talk) 09:38, 22 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

From USA_193: "P78-1, a US satellite in a 290-mile (470 km) orbit that was destroyed during a 1985 US Air Force ASM-135 ASAT test." 189.78.210.120 (talk) 07:41, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Debris - how much?

edit

How much debris was generated by this ASAT strike? The 2007 Chinese anti-satellite missile test was decried for littering space; what about this test? I notice this news story quotes NASA as listing the top 10 space junk producing missions, and this is not listed as one of them. Comet Tuttle (talk) 20:49, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Overzealous description for the image

edit

Is it REALLY necessary to clarify that the picture is that of the satellite BEFORE it's demise? Seems self explanatory to me and in this case just feels a wee bit silly Choronzon (talk) 20:55, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Are any other images available which could be added to the gallery? One photo seems hardly sufficient. Did the satellite have a camera on board? If photos of some of the sungrazing comets could be found, I think these would be a good addition to the gallery. Erzahler (talk) 12:36, 30 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
