My name is Paul, and I currently reside in Florida. My hobbies and interests include: Theatre Pipe Organs, Amateur Radio, Model and Prototype Railroading, Music, and writing Poetry.

My username, Erzahler, is a pipe organ stop. An Erzähler is a flue stop, usually at unison pitch. It sounds somewhat like a diminished Diapason with a tone somewhere between a reed and a flue. The stop was invented in 1904 by the organ builder Ernest M. Skinner. Erzähler means "story teller" in German.

I grew up with a love of trains, as I suppose many boys did. Although none of my family ever worked for a railroad, the lure was there nevertheless. I grew up in Colorado with Burlington Northern coal drags and Santa Fe freight trains in the 1970's, then later with Rio Grande and Amtrak's “California Zephyr” with their large assortment of power to get trains through the mountains, especially through Glenwood Canyon.

Today I still have a love of trains. My current interest is Florida East Coast Railway and Brightline, but I'll never forget my beloved Denver & Rio Grande Western. I was, and still am, one of those die-hard Railfans who can sit at a grade crossing all day and watch trains go by.
