Hello, I work at the Social Progress Imperative. I am writing to inform the editors of a few corrections. Michael Porter is correctly listed on the Social Progress Imperative’s Wikipedia page as the Chairman of the Advisory Board. Could we have this changed on the Social Progress Index's Wikipedia page as well? The Chairman of the Board of Directors is Brizio Biondi-Morra. In regards to the 2018 global Index, we ranked 140 countries. If it is possible to continue after 39, this would be great. Thank you for considering these requests. Methodology

World Map

How come that two of the top three counties (New Zealand and Icealand) are not marked on the wolrd map? 141.89.46.237 (talk) 20:25, 15 November 2014 (UTC)

Problems with the map: 1) The color scale is not very useful, at least to my eyes. For example, I can't tell of the Central American countries are very high or the other dark color. A good scale should be "readable" by just looking at the map rather than going back and forth, squinting, etc. trying to see what a particular country is. 2) According to many news reports, Venezuela is in dire straits, where-as the map shows them doing well. or is it unranked 9which would be surprising)? Article Title

The original Article title of Social Progress Index may be better now the Methodology and Findings sections are added. Similar articles such as Quality-of-life index are without the prefix List of countries by. I think at the moment there is not enough information about the SPI itself, as soon as there is more reliable information available, a separation of the topic makes sense. And funny thing, that is now 2 years later :) --huggi - never stop exploring (talk) 01:12, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

Why recreate the list?

What a lot of work to go to to recreate a chart that could easily be linked to. These data dumps are a pain to maintain and are frequently the target of vandals. Why not just link to the data and spend more effort on the org responsible for the work and its methodology? Seligne (talk) 15:02, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

Inaccurate ranking

The ranking of Singapore and Taiwan in particular is highly suspect since their data is incomplete in the Social Progress Index. The Social Progress Index report explicitly lists Denmark as #1, Finland #2, and Iceland #3. Whoever made the ranking is providing falsified information. Singapore in particular scores poorly in two indicators (Foundations of Well-being at #33, and Opportunity at #26), which makes their #1 ranking in this article absolute nonsense.

Edit request -- 2018 results

I work at the Social Progress Imperative. I am writing to inform any editors of this page that the 2018 Social Progress Index data has been released https://www.socialprogress.org/index/results -- please consider adding the 2018 results to this page. The downloadable data file includes retroactive results calculated back to 2014, using current indicators to ensure comparability between years. There is also an updated map available online.

  Additional information requested  

• The report you've suggested to add to the article contains data from hundreds of different parameters across many different countries. A request to "add the 2018 results to this page" is non specific.
• The COI editor is free to propose specific changes to the article here on the talk page. Non-specific, blanket requests are likely to go unanswered for some time. It would be best if specific requests for specific changes to this article were made.
• Specifically, which parameters would you like to add, and where in the report may those parameters be found? Is the information found on the website itself, or is it contained in a downloadable pdf? What would be the link for this pdf?
• Markup would need to be provided for the table and each country that is to receive the new year of data. Are you willing to provide this markup, or would you like others to specifically create it for you?

It should be our goal to provide information in the best way possible. In an ideal situation all of these questions would be addressed here in the edit request, giving the COI editor and reviewer a clear purpose that is unique to the particular needs of the article in question. Please advise, I stand by ready to assist if need be.

Edit war involving ranking table

Recently, there has been an edit war over the ranking table that involved anonymous users. An anonymous user accused another for reverting the rankings table, and called reverting the table "vandalism". If the edit war continues, then I would want the page to be protected, despite not being an administrator. Bsslover371 (talk) 20:08, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
