Page Name Change edit

Since Royal Assent has been granted, shouldn't we change the name of the article to "Same-Sex Marriage in Guernsey?" Andrew1444 (talk) 20:15, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Recognition of same-sex unions in GuernseySame-sex marriage in Guernsey – Royal assent has already been given and the region is moving towards the effectivity date of the same-sex marriage laws. In practice, by this point all regions would have already been renamed from "Recognition of same-sex unions in" to "Same-sex marriage in". Growupon (talk) 01:53, 1 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

But same-sex marriage does take place in Guernsey, whether you are talking about the island or the Bailiwick. It doesn't take place at all in Germany, Greece, Poland etc. We can use the text to explain precisely what the situation is on each island, but it makes sense to bring this article into line with all the others. Support. Every other page begins using "Same-sex marriage in" even when only sub-jurisdictions permit it ("SSM in Mexico" and "SSM in the United States" prior to June 2015.)Andrew1444 (talk) 16:00, 1 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
